Good resource
It's a good resource to help learn kanji that i don't know. It's also great to let people know what kanji are typically being studied in Japanese schools and when. I know there are a fair amount of "beginner" kanji in the game that I hadn't learned in college.

Better than i thought
I bought this game a while ago, thinking I'd soon give up because of the language barrier. Surprisingly, it's very simple to understand. The game itself is extremely straight forward. You can learn Kanji from year 1 to year 6, they give you the stroke order, and there are a lot of exercises. It's very repetitive, but that's the way to go if you want to learn Kanji. Definitely recommend this!

Great tool
This is the first of the two games, much is gained through the second game with numerous advances, but regardless this is still an extremely solid game that is good for intermediate Japanese students.

I have purchased this game in conjunction with My Japanese Coach and Kanji Sonomama Rakubiki Jiten. It is a great way to learn Kanji and Hiragana, especially stroke order as some of the stroke orders in My Japanese Coach are not quite correct.
You will need a good understanding of Hiragana and Kanji in order to enjoy this title to it's fullest.

Fantastic!
I am currently studying Japanese in Japan, and this has been very useful for studying and practicing kanji. It's small and convenient, and allows me to quiz myself on the train or anywhere else. A fantastic program.
Also, it's /fun/. I actually enjoy studying now. Also, it is very cute! Enjoyable all around. I will definitely be purchasing the next in the series.

AMAZING
i like how there is like a calander that stamps your attendance haha keeps me motivated to be regular at practicing kanji. stroke order is extremely important and because this game helps you to do so, by taking the time to write correctly helps you to memorize the kanji. very happy

Good Kanji Writing Practice
I've been training with Kakitorikun for just under seven months now and I'm quite happy with it. Sometimes I find it a bit hard to pace myself on learning the kanji and as it's meant for Japanese primary school students it can be a little inaccessible in places, but it's still good material for learning how to properly write and read kanji and I always find Kageyama-sensei's encouragement to be quite entertaining.

That's a Nice soft !
I'm satisfied with the game.
This soft is certainly one of the best along with it sequel both for beginner and advanced kanji learners who want to review their knowledge.
Besides kanji practice there is also basic hiragana practice.
However it's better if you already know both hiragana and katakana so that you get along more rapidly with the game.
there are kanji writing practices and exercices with sentences. (all in japanese!!!)
But as you get better in Japanese this game will become a very good tool on the road to mastery.
It's a must have for your study. The game is runs well.

Great program!
This program is excellent for learning how to draw kanji with perfect stroke and shape, also great for practicing readings. No english definitions are given however so you must look up the meanings separately.

Good tool for learning Kanji writing
Very useful tool to learn kanji writing. However, you'll need to know kanas and have a dictionary to understand what you're writing... This tool is designed for japanese school kids and do not provide any translation.
But if you already master kana, some basic vocabulary and grammar, this is a wonderful tool !
I just check the words I don't understand on a online dictionary (jdic).

Great learning tool
the organization of the kanji rocks, not only giving you a sort of leveled learning system, but making it less scary than giving you the whole list at once.
the tests are great fun. though i do have to use a dictionary at the same time currently.
only thing i'd add is the readings of each kanji, those i'm having to learn from the tests.
as the other person said, kanji sonomama rakubiki jiten and this make for a really good learning experiance. glad i have 2 ds's to do it on.

Good for writing
This program is very good for writing Kanji. It helps you write the stokes in the correct order. If you don't write the kanji correctly it will tell you if you did OK, good or not so good.

The Best of the Kanji Learning Software So Far
i have tried quite a few of these programs, and this is the one i like best. all of the kanji are very clearly organized by their academic year, so you can learn them according to the japanese educational system. this takes you up through elementary education which means the first 1006 kanji or so.
it is a very well organized and clear program. the handwriting recognition is quite good, and the emulation of brush strokes is really nice. the testing system is very good also. i think this software combined with kanji sonomama rakubiki jiten would be all you really need until you finish your study of elementary kanji. then perhaps it would be time to move on to the next level of the software, if there is one.
