Professor Layton will train you better than
I love how Level-5 has incorporated puzzles into a story, although they aren't related to the plot. The puzzles are interesting, and some of them do require more critical thinking. The game has a wonderful art style with great background music, creating a somewhat quirky atmosphere, yet appealing. Unlike "Brain Age" that ...

description
In the curious village of St. Mystere, townsfolk greet each other with riddles, lock their doors with sliding puzzles, and hide their secrets within brainteasers. When a wealthy baron passes away, his will reveals an elusive treasure hidden someplace inside the village. Now it's up to Professor Layton to untangle St. Mystere's riddles and puzzles, find the hidden treasure, and crack the case.

Professor Layton and the Curious Village is a wonderful game
If you're into your brain teasers, then this one will have you hooked. The inclusion of a narrative framework is a stroke of brilliance too – and the simple but pleasing presentation is perfect for all ages.

Layton games are awesome!
I wasn't a big lover of puzzle games but after playing the layton series i can surely say that i've become a puzzle addict. I played the curious village for a solid 20 hours and i loved every minute of it. Highly Recommended!!

Curiously addictive
Essentially just a collection of about 120 brain teaser puzzles loosely tied together by a story, Professor Layton and the Curious Village is a strangely compelling and fun ride, thanks to it's presentation -- you get a pretty good story, great characterisations and fully animated cutscenes.
All of this contribute to a very classy package that's both fun and works great on the DS because you can pick it up, solve a puzzle or two and then put it down if you're ona train.
The puzzles are mostly tuned so that they get harder as the game progresses but not so hard that a little logical or creative thinking won't solve without the need for complicated arithmetic.
Great game and certainly one of the reasons I bought a DS.

Very engaging and fun puzzle game
Professor Layton is easily one of the best games available for the NDS. This game is highly recommended to anyone who challenges and puzzles.
