Scariest game I have ever played!!!
When I first saw this game, I thought it was like a full version of Noroinogeemu. I ordered this game and saw that it expanded the game off of the DSi (from what I had played). However, I had no idea that what I was playing was a horror game!! It was definitely an exciting game that keeps you on your feet... because anything can happen that can just give you a cold chill.
The controls are interesting. You hold the DS sideways and use the bottom screen to move. When you enter the game world, you hold it like a normal Gameboy.
There's not much to the main gameplay, just walk around a lot and trigger various things in the world around you to happen like shattering glass or something. As you walk around, you'll hear this very creepy breathing noise (I had the lights turned off and hooked up to a heavy bass sound system before I realized it was a horror game) that goes around from speaker to speaker depending on what way you are facing. So, this game uses 100% 3D sound and does it VERY well! I suggest playing on at least a 5.1 surround sound system. Throughout walking around in a first person view which was also cleverly done, you'll see these very scary ghosts / zombies standing around that just give you this evil look if you get close enough. The view in the game is quite ingenious. The bottom screen represents the player's right eye which has perfect vision and the left is the top screen where the player sees everything closer than normal and also also the player to see markings that the right eye cannot see. When you find the markings, you click on them and are brought to the game world which looks like an NES game similar to Dragon Warrior or Final Fantasy look. The game world looks exactly like the real world, but 8-bit. It's strange and creepy sort of. In the real world, you find yourself running through various parts of the town / city and as you play through all 8 days, the places get darker and scarier! I actually made it to this hotel place and got freaked out and couldn't finish the game. I handed it to my brother and he finished the game and loved it!
Overall, this is a very exciting, very suspenseful game!! Read the story to the game if you can!! I really recommend this game if you want to play a scary DS game. Oh, one thing that makes this game seem real is that the way the game is presented, it makes it feel like YOU are REALLY there!
