aka. Super Monkey Ball Touch & Roll
description
Super Monkey Ball DS offers the same kind of game play as the home console versions. With the Nintendo DS however, the touch panel will give the game a different touch. The 3D action is displayed on the top screen, while the bottom screen shows a 2D version of your monkey ball with AiAi inside.
Scratch the monkey ball with your stylus and your ball will move on the top screen. The game features more than 100 stages, including some from previous versions as well as a lot of new ones. Additionally, six party games have been included, two of them playable by up to four players.

It's Super Monkey Ball, but portable! If you liked Super Monkey Ball 1 or 2, you'll definitely like this one. I've only played the original DS version from a friend and liked it. At first, I thought the graphics to this game were going to be a problem like the GBA version (which was very good considering the GBA's hardware) that was 3-D. This game runs as smooth as the Gamecube versions. The only difference is the graphics are like a Nintendo64, maybe a little better. The minigames could have been better, but when this game came out the first time, everyone wanted to utilize the touchscreen. Fortunately, you are not forced to use the touchscreen for the main game. I am giving this game a 5 because it's fun to play, easy to control, and for what portable videogame systems can do, the graphics and physics are incredible. Get this game and stay away from Monkey Ball Adventure and Banana Blitz.
worth, but i'll give it 2 scores The game is fantastic, touch controls well implemented and minigames or multiplayer real fun!! so why 2 scores? simple, as monkey ball deluxe, this game repeat many past stages so if you have previous games there's no real deal in getting this one.
But will be so (SO) unfair give it a lower score for those who don't have previous monkey balls, many people could miss it!. Give it a 5 stars if this is your first Monkey Ball game, or a 3 stars if you don't. Simple.
A worthy addition to the series Okay, a few minor complaints... First, there's no high score tables for Challenge mode. Challenge mode also seems a bit easy to complete, and has been changed to a weird theme of selecting a world, and then clearing the 10 stages within. You get extra lives with a mere 10 bananas, with bundles being worth 5. And the most annoying part: the 1UP graphic appears RIGHT ON TOP of your monkey, causing a severe obstruction for a couple seconds. The staff roll mini game gets really irritating, since it's several minutes long, and there's no simple way to skip it aside from doing a soft reset (L + R + Select + Start).
Other than those minor gripes, the game is excellent, and has silky smooth touch screen control that makes it just as easy to control as the Gamecube releases (and certainly much better than Deluxe). The selection of mini games is good, and single card multiplayer features are included.
