Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates is the sequel to Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles for Gamecube™. The game takes advantage of both the local wireless and Wi-Fi capabilities of the system.
The new installment of Crystal Chronicles uses a similar control scheme to the Gamecube™ version, with A to use Commands; Y to pick up items (and allegedly enemies); and the B button to jump (which adds a layer to strategy, with multitiered levels in the 3D environment).
Most of the gameplay takes place on the top screen. The touch screen shows maps, as well as stylus access for different weapon attacks. Special attacks are performed by pressing the right trigger button, the screens will swap allowing enemies to be attacked just by touching them with the stylus. If done correctly, chained attacks can be performed.
In multiplayer mode, the player's class greatly influences lifespan. Five character classes can be picked including Warrior, Archer, White Mage, Black Mage, and a support class. Each has specific roles to be fulfilled in the multiplayer mode.
Another great RPG in NDS Ring of Fates has captivating main story line and voice acting. It's a rare combination in Nintendo DS's action RPG. The action animation also smooth, quite exceptional for a DS game.
My suggestion, try the co-op mode with up to 4 friends. There is additional quest to play. In this you will find true excitement of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicle series game play. This game is a must have for Nintendo DS owner.

Pretty good game I got this game a few months ago, but didn't really get into it until recently. I have to say, this is a pretty good game in terms of its graphics, voice acting, BGM, dialogue, character design, ability design, and dungeon exploration. (I've never played other Crystal Chronicles game, so I don't know how good this one is compared to them.) One of the best parts of the game is, each character has his/her special race ability. You might think, "well, all Final Fantasy games are like that." But I think this game is unique because it actually makes full use of each character's ability, even during exploration. For instance, there are certain places in a dungeon that you must get to in order to let the game proceed, but the passage into this place is too narrow, so you will need to use a character named "Misu," who has the ability to make her way through this kind of situation. Then, as Misu makes her way through, she can summon her party members to her current position. In other Final Fantasy games, the characters' special abilities are useful mostly during battle.
There are a few parts of the game that need to be tweaked up. Other than that, the game is fine.
PS. Unfortunately, players need to be at the intermediate level of Japanese (at least), to enjoy the dialogues of this game. Otherwise, the story would seem dull.
