Another great Pokemon movie OP
People defend the games, and rightly so, because the inherent game systems really are easy to grasp for kids and deep enough for serious competitive players. There's almost no defense for the anime though, it's very clearly for kids. If you need any more proof, listen to the later crop of opening theme songs like this one. That's not to say that it's a bad song. The theatrical renditions of the opening themes are always great since they incorporate orchestras or new musical styles that back the rerecorded vocals. It's just made even crystal-clearer that the anime is for kids to check out and grown men probably should be embarrassed if they are caught alone in the theater.
Besides the opening theme song, there's a couple instrumental tracks from the movie that serve as a sampler to the complete instrumental score release. Those tracks hit the basic notes of the movie featuring Arceus, a Pokemon that's basically a creator deity who relinquishes parts of itself to humanity to restore a city to prosperity. Two tracks seem to reference Arceus, while one is a more battle-themed track that refers to a perilous combat scene.
One final song to note is the Pokemon TV anime series ending theme from that time that featured the special weird-eared Pichu. That one's patently for kids as well, and it's a wacky track all about a Pichu.
Overall, this is a great buy, and don't be ashamed to have a CD of Pokemon music.
