Persona - Trinity Soul is an anime sequel to the hit game Persona 3. It takes place around ten years after the events at the end of the game and wraps up the lose ends to the game's plotline.
The OST is produced by Iwasaki Taku, the sound producer to another hot anime title, Gurren Lagaan. He combines classical and modern elements to portray the atmosphere of the series, e.g. he uses the orchestra to bring out the mysteriousness and rap to represent the exciting fast paced fights. Besides new tracks, themes from the game are reused and remixed to create a connection between Persona 3 and Trinity Soul.
Aside from instrumentals, most of the vocals used in the anime are recorded into the OST. This include the full version of the newest ending theme "Found Me", sung by Kawamura Yumi, a rising star in the realm of game music.
Good Variety of Music This soundtrack is based on the Persona Trinity Soul anime, a sequel/tie-in of sorts to Persona 3 taking place 10 after the events of the game. Following the style of the game, many of the songs have a modern, edgey sound to them. A few of these songs are performed by Lotus Juice, an artist who also produced some of Persona 3's music.
The soundtrack also features some slower, more orchestral pieces, as well as some more laidback tracks reminiscent of the background music from the Persona 3 game.
Overall, this is an enjoyable soundtrack, though many may not have heard of it as it never saw a state-side release so is a bit obscure. Nevertheless, fans of rock or alternative style music, especially fans of the Shin Megami Tensei series will not be disappointed.
