TV Animation LOVELESS OST
The LOVELESS soundtrack contains music by Masanori Sasaji from the anime LOVELESS, an anime revolving around the two main characters, Ritsuka and Soubi. Most tracks are instrumentals and Ritsuka's theme 'Memories' is soothing and calm, relaxed with a hint of youthfulness and innocence. The music gets a little darker towards the end of the track, conveying a sense of loss and sorrow and possibly danger then switches back to a livelier note.
Soubi's theme 'Fidelity' on the other hand, starts out darker, with a hint of menacing danger. It has a more exciting beat creating a dramatic feel to it. It is often used during Soubi's fight scenes. Towards the middle of the track, the music mellows out into something with a lighter note before shifting to a happier tune.
After the character tracks are hauntingly beautiful tracks once again conveying sorrow, underlying danger and a sense of anticipation where there is fast paced music and prominent usage of drums. The slower paced tracks are calming, peaceful and relaxing.
The CD ends with the TV-sized versions of the opening and ending themes of the anime. The opening theme is an energetic and fast-paced track with a great vocal and music. The ending theme is slower and mellower but no less beautiful to listen to. The CD follows closely to the mood and atmosphere of the anime, which is often dark and sombre. As there are lots of piano tracks it makes for easy listening music for a bit of relaxation. Fans who enjoyed the background music of Loveless should get this CD.
