description
The story began in Midgar, city of mako, where a corporate superpower known as Shinra used its monopoly of mako energy to dominate all aspects of life, securing political power in the process. Shinras mako reactors dotted in the city, harvesting the energy and converting it to a viable source of power.
However, mako energy was not the wellspring of happiness Shinra claimed it to be, but rather the vitality of the planet itself, the source of all life. Some began to realize: If we let this continue, the planet will die. These individuals set up an anti-Shina organization called Avalanche, and began resistance efforts using guerilla tactics.
Finally, Avalanche decided to blow up one of the mako reactors. Among the members chosen for the mission was Cloud Strife, a former member of Shinras elite guard, SOLDIER.
Cloud showed no emotion and was bound by no principles; he was an ex-SOLDIER and a merc, and there was nothing more to be said. The reactor strike awoke in Cloud the need to confront the holes in his past and his very reasons for being. And that journey, perhaps took the heaviest toll...
Two years have passed...
Though Midgar, city of mako, city of prosperity, has been reduced to ruins, the people slowly but steadily walk the road to reconstruction.
However, a mysterious illness called geostigma torments them.
With no cure in sight, it brings death to the afflicted, one after another, robbing the people of their fledgling hope.
And so Cloud, who walked away from the life of a hero to live in solitude, must step forward yet again.

Simply Amazing!
When I saw the original Advent Children, I thought it couldn't get any better, but I was wrong. WAAAAAAY wrong! Improving signifigantly on the orignal movie, they added more music, characters, and scenes from the orignal game for a much more nostalgic movie experience. Never watch the original movie again and get this!

Advent Children Complete Review (Regular Edition)
I haven't seen any review for this edition so I shall provide people the common courtesy so that way the are informed:
The regular edition comes with a black blu-ray case with very nice artwork. Inside is a pamphlet and the blu-ray disc with the image of cloud on it.
Languages:
The movie has the option of Japanese or English which can be set via the options menu, but the special features, subtitles, and trailers are Japanese only.
Movie itself:
Compared to the first time Advent Children played, this version is MUCH better and well fleshed out. The new scenes compliment the current existing one and it makes the "vanilla" version look like a complete cash-in and incoherent action flick.
The blu-ray version gives crisp, vibrant detail to not only the characters but the world around them. On a home theatre system, the audio is nothing to be ashamed of either.
Overall: 5 stars. A must get for FF7 fans and movie goers alike.
