Funny movie and good 3D
Made by Imagi studio, whose first project was the latest 3D TMNT film. The 3D in Atom/Astro Boy might not be Pixar level but it's very stylish and charming nonetheless. The story is fun and sad at times, could be enjoyed by the whole family.
I have watched the new Astro Boy movie on Eng. DVD before, but the Jpn blu-ray features the addt'l Jpn dub in addition to original Eng audio. Actors Freddie Highmore and Nicholas Cage were good as Astro Boy and Dr. Tenam, Ueto Aya's rendition of Astro Boy (or Atom in Jpn) is refreshing as well.
Also all the special features on the US DVD are included here, a bonus is a short interview w/ the Jpn producer.
If you like cute 3D animation like the Pixar films, this is not to be missed.
