Another masterpiece
Another animated movie unique from the rest in the industry. If you like Hayao's style, you should know what to expect, it's a class product not to be missed by people of all ages.

Amazing Film
I've always been a fan of Ghibli movies because of their high production value. Ponyo on the Cliff is no exception to that. The film was really enjoyable and original so much so that I couldn't even tell it was based on the Little Mermaid. The only gripe I have about the film was that it could've been a tad longer. Otherwise, another excellent masterpiece from the guys tat Ghibli. Looking forward to purchasing more awesome Blu-rays from them.

Beautiful, inspiring and innovative.
Miyazaki's films have always felt like vivid dreams, moments of devastating clarity intertwined with dream like visions. The ending of Princess Monoke for example, a dream like moment that rips you in half.
But Ponyo On The Cliff is one of the most dream like films Studio Ghibli has ever produced. If you cry, it will be out of joy and overwhelming beauty than again... Princess Monoke's ending.
To say this film has the best drawn animation in the last 5 years would be an understatement. There is never a static moment, everything moves and feels alive. This may sound lame to say, but it's some of the best wind animation i've seen in a film. I know I'm rambling on, but it's so hard to describe what i loved about this film. The simple but beautiful story from the mind blowing animation. Even the soundtrack proved it could be one of the best, by swooping under some of the best waves.
Imagine floating on a town covered in water, trees below you like you are flying and the water inhabited by fish you have never seen.
Imagine that and you are only half way there.

Amazing
I was just blown away by the image quality on this Blu-ray! Incredible!
Look Disney, this is how 2D animation should be presented on HD video: not with DNR on every frame!
The disc is also region-free.

A magnificent and magestic film in its own simple way
Another awesome Miyazaki film. At first glance you might think its for kids only, but just like the rest of Miyazaki's films, this one will cater to people of all ages.
I absolutely loved the simplicity of the film. Something that I quite missed with the barrage of action films being released this generation. As usual, Studio Ghibli still produces top notch hand drawn animations and add to that the amazing voice work of the seiyuus. The characters of Ponyo, Sosuke and her mom also made the movie simply fun to watch. And as with all Miyazaki films, the message behind the movie is also something that subtlely resonates in the scenes.
Probably the best animation film I've watched in the past few years. It's simply a MUST GET. I wish they'd come out with a sequel or prequel or even a short telling the backstory of ponyo's parents.
