Beginning Legend of One of Japan's greatest swordsman This one is only the beginning of I would consider one of the best Samurai dramas. Yagyu Jubei is a well known legendary swordsman in the history of Japan during the Edo period. However, his stories are unknown and this is one of romanticized version of his story. I think this is one of the most intriguing stories I come across, since it doesn't just portray spectacular sword fights and the samurai spirit, but it also displays Jubei's struggle as a true wandering swordman versus the influence of politics. If your a big fan of famous samurai's from history of Japan, this would be the most recommendable collection to own. This isn't just about Jubei's 7 duels with other famous samurai's, but every time as he fought his opponents, there is a consequence. You don't really savour the death under the art of sword, but rather it shows the painful sides and the human emotion of losing someone, killing another person, and a sense of almost losing even yourself because of killing so many people.
What can I say? very educating, artistic, beautiful yet simplistic, and emotional at times. Please Pick this one up if anybody's interested!
