"Jewel In The place'' Is based on true story about A legendary girl [Jang geum] who became the first woman to be supreme royal physician of her time. Dispite her poor codition as a low class girl in the male dominated society, jang guem overcame series of social discrimination and landed herself as a royal cook, later becaming a royal physician, the ultimately physician in the charge of the king.
