Good DSi Jacket It makes the DSi feel sturdy and secure.
The only minor issue is that its hard to open the DSi all the way , but I seldom need to do that so its ok.
Excellent but not perfect First off, let me say that I'd give this 4.5 stars, since the complaints I have are very, very minor.
It does snap on quite easily and nicely, and I was thrilled to see that it still allows the DSL to close entirely. There are some similar silicon skins here in the USA, but they wrap around the entire case (as they are made entirely of soft silicon), and thus it keeps the system from closing tightly. However, this jacket doesn't do that since it snaps onto the sides, so the entire package is still sleek and smooth.
It feels nice enough - kind of "powdery," but still firm and sturdy. Doesn't add much bulk or weight at all, so really this is the best solution for protecting your system without making it too large or heavy.
I do, however, have a few small complaints. The good news is that they can be fixed easily.
The first is that the jacket does wrap around the entire system, and thus there is a connecting hinge piece between the top and bottom halves. It's basically just a strip of soft silicon. I commend Capdase for making the jacket all one piece, but this strip is an issue. See, when you open your DSL to play, this strip creates pressure on the hinge. Thus, you cannot open the DSL as far as you could without the case, and if it's not open enough, the strip will push it closed ever so slightly. I thought I'd get used to it, but since I couldn't open my DSL to the angle I wanted.
The solution is easy enough - you can get a straight edge razor and remove this part, which separates the jacket into two pieces (top and bottom). Since they still snap onto the sides, this solves the problem easily. You do give up protection on the DSL's hinge, but that's not a big problem for me anyway.
The second problem is kind of the same thing - the headphone and power ports do have cut-outs on the jacket, but they aren't big enough for me. You can still hit the power switch somewhat, and you can fool around and get headphones plugged in, but the jacket does get in the way a little too much for comfort.
Again, the solution is simple - take the straight edge razor and heat it up over fire, and then you can easily cut out notches in the jacket. The hard silicon melts easily enough, so you can perform this quickly and painlessly within a few minutes.
Cutting the notches and removing the soft hinge guard solved my issues entirely - I can now open the system as much as I want, headphones can still be used easily, and the power button is no longer obscured.
All in all, I highly recommend this to anyone who is worried about protecting their system. Again, some small modifications might be required, but otherwise, this is a fantastic product.
good good feel but mine has a catch slightly broke off a day after i bought it and the cover will drop partially off when the ds lite is fully extended.
