bought it from play-asia, just received it this morning!
it's awesome! it's really2 Action Replay did his BEST! a cheat machine that can be used for two types of consoles (DS & GBA)! both work fine, easy to use, lots of libraries! surely i would buy again if there are stocks in future for my duplicate! actually there are 2 distributors that deal with Action Replay for this item, one is DATEL, and another one is INTEC. both are the same, play-asia sold the DATEL one, and i found the INTEC one from ebay. the difference is only its packaging, DATEL using sealed plastic only while INTEC using an exclusive tin! both price are not much different as well, around the same, it's got usb cable, direction, mini disc installation and hardware device. hopefully play-asia would bring this in stocks again as this is a really "good-buy" item!

Not for DS users
The DS save backup doesn't work for many games, certainly not worth it if that is why you want this product. The GBA code side works fine.

Very Dissatisfied
Although the name suggest it's an action replay for both ds games and gba games. It is only an ar for gba games and a back up file saver for ds games.

I think its a good product. 1 good thing is u can download ac:ww map editor and use this to edit animal crossing wild world saves!

Oh and umm aaron all u need to do is hook it up to ur computer and use the reset feature (all codes will be gone)

good but could do better
I havent used the gba side of but the ds save backup feature is a great addition. However it does have some problems.
It cant recognise or backup saves for certain games. The newer versions were fixed so they would work with animal crossing & mario kart ds.
However no version so far will let you backup your save file for pokemon diamond or pear as its a unsupported save type.

Don't be fooled
This device is NOT compatible with DS games. Yes, it WILL not work on DS games, only with GBA games. The interface is sucky and you can't even edit a cheat properly without having to affect the whole system. Not to mention that if you turn off the game while the cheat is being loaded, it WILL delete the whole cheat and leaves you with nothing. This device is just desperately poor and leaves a bad taste in your mouth. Quality wise is just plain disgusting, except that you get a fancy metal box that comes with it.

All of my first party Nintendo DS games will NOT register with the AR Max. My other games like Sonic Rush and Castlevania work fine though. What in the world is going on?

If your going to get a cheat device, this is the brand to buy. They come out with cheats for every Gameboy Advanced/SP, and DS games. If you have trouble downloading you can always enter the codes manually on their web site.

This cheating system is pretty good. it worked like a charm on pretty much every gba game i have... BUT it has some problems with connecting to the computer thru the usb cabel. so this can sometimes be a problem

Max Duo is da best cos of the way u can create multiple game saves and I am relieved to find an action replay which you don't have to use for cheating. Cheating in games is wasting games. You get such a warm satisfying feeling when you cheat your way through a game (sarcasm).

Action replay max duo can not load cheat to nintendo DS, its just transfer the save file to your computer, the only cheat program is just GBA, it's olso bad !! not all game works
