description
The talented creators at PlatinumGames and Nude Maker have collaborated once again, this time on Infinite Space, an elaborate sci-fi RPG with an engaging battle system requiring both speed and strategy. The esteemed teams first title, Steel Battalion, was critically claimed and became a sought after collectors item. Their latest space adventure promises the same high quality and intricate depth in over 70 hours of gameplay. Created exclusively for the Nintendo DS, the saga immerses you in a dynamic, colorful universe on the verge of war. In the role of young Yuri, you command a fleet of spaceships and battle against tyrannical dictators and deadly space pirates while searching for a mystical epitaph known to have the power to change the world. As the story unfolds, Yuri grows into a man powerful enough to prevent another war and possibly, universal annihilation.

deep and rewarding
there's much to do in Infinite Space, more than most people care for or can handle. it will feel dull at certain moments but it's still a great game overall.

It's fun but not quite so open world
I was hoping for an Elite like space trading game, but this RPG like space epic is hardly a bad thing. Good characters and customisation balance out some not very enjoyable combat.

INFINITE SPACE DS
although its role-playing elements come across more like an interactive slideshow, i would highly recommend this game to fans of space opera, with a few cautions. first and most important, while the customization of your ships is very engrossing, it is way to easy to lose track of your current quests or goals in the story. be very clear about where you're going next and you ought to do fine. second, the whole interface/battle system in general take some getting used to. in addition, you'll wind up doing plenty of grinding to level up or increase your funds to upgrade your ships (so you'll have plenty of time to learn the system's ins and outs). these points in mind, fans of epic, "nations in space"-style stories will find a vast, well-conceived new universe full of great ship designs and with a surprisingly good coming-of-age story tying it all together.

Masterpiece
Engaging story, impressive freedom to design your own ship and fleet. It will awake the desire of building the most powerful fleet in the whole galaxy.
It may have its flaws, but if you can see its beauties, you'll consider this game a masterpiece as I do.
The oficial reviews are not beeing excellent period, but this game is a sleeper. It is a must play.

An extremely satisfying space opera adventure
Infinite Space may not be that much of a RPG, but it makes up for it by being a really awesome adventure game.
Most of the game is made up of conversation, with battles encountered while travelling between planets and during certain event scenes. The writing is great, and the atmosphere of the story is fantastic.
There really is no other space opera adventure quite as grand as this elsewhere, and that unique feature alone makes up for many of the game's shortcomings in production values.
If you enjoy stories like Space Battleship Yamato, Captain Harlock, Xenosaga or Banner of the Stars, and you have a good understanding of Japanese, it would be a shame to miss out on this.
