good as a supplement I ordered this game after about half a year of study in Japan and I would have to agree with 2 other reviews. It's good in addition to other forms of study, but if you really want to learn, you have to go "by the book", so to speak. Even without only a few months of study, I aced the entry test and still had to grind through many things I knew. Where it does excel is that most of the games (except Spelltastic and the word find) are quite good for practice and it has a pretty useful built-in dictionary function for traveling. However, although it does have a good amount of grammar lessons, they're not very good at explaining the grammar or using it with a wide variety of vocabulary.
To sum it up, it's great in addition to other sources of study and good as a language tool for travel, but it shouldn't be the only source of study you use.

Fun for what it is. It's been a reasonably good brush up for me having not studied Japanese for close to a decade. They've done a good job balancing the entertainment and educational factors — certainly a difficult ask. Recommended as an extra learning tool but nothing beats the real thing!

Great practice material I really like games in this software which can help you to remember how to read and write. It helps me a lot in master the Kana.
This software also focus on the grammar. It lists the grammar points in the lessons step by step. I find it quite helpful for the Japanese beginner like me.
