Dream Team
OK, so we have Hironobu Sakaguchi as the project supervisor - the mastermind behind the Final Fantasy Series. We have Yuji Horii, the composer behind the Dragon Quest series (Dragon Warrior in some parts of the world), and then we have Akira Toriyama for character design (Creator of Dragon Ball, Dr Slump, etc). Big BIG names involved in the creation of this game. And they remade it for the DS, and added it to the Ultimate Hits series, lowering its price!! DEFINITELY worth the money. Great RPG that you can (and should) play at least 2 times through (trust me). Great great game.

One of the best games ever!
I just love it! I started playing it on the iPod touch, but it is way more better on the NDS. It is definitely worth to buy the card.

The best SNES RPG on DS
If you don't know what Chrono Trigger is I don't know what to tell you.
Pretty much any gamer has at least heard of Chrono Trigger or seen it refences when talking about RPGs simply because its one of the best RPGs of all time.
Chances are, if you are too young that you haven't heard about it, if so, then just get it and give it a go.

A much-needed remake
For someone who, unfortunately, didn't have the chance to play the SNES original, this is really great! Recommended for those who never tried it, like me, and for those who want to relive as well.

A remake... would be better.
Yeah, it's one of the best games i've ever played in my whole life. But... why a simple port with a few bonus/extras?
Yet is still enjoyable and ofc, this game will you offer fun and "magic" to your heart as hard as it can.

Just a MUST BE.
Chrono Trigger is just the same game you know from the SNES system ported to the Nintendo DS with the enhancements of the PsX version and without the tedious loading times, plus some exclusive contents as the Lost Sanctum... It means that the DS version of Chrono Trigger is just the PERFECT version of this mighty game.
Just buy your copy of this game and enjoy the true 16-bit era RPG spirit!

I love thi game so much, i used to play it on my SNES, but this version is far more interesting, it records the ends you've done, and there are movie cut scenes, and lot of new stuff and places to visit, this is my favourite RPG ever.

I owned the cartridge on the SNES, I replayed it on the PSOne and now I am coming back to this all-time classic jrpg once again. Any classic JPRG gamer should play this at least once.

Spanning Time Again
Chrono Trigger was the RPG that got me into RPGs. It is probably the most memorable game ever to me and it will probably always be my favorite. I originally played it on the SNES, and then fairly recently, I played it on the Playstation. And now finally I decided to give the most recent DS version a try.
In terms of gameplay, the game is the same as the previous versions, except for the addition of a monster-battling arena and two new areas in the game. Essentially it is just a mini-game that allows you to raise a monster, which are just enemies from the game, and fight other monsters. It's a nice little addition but will probably not keep most people interested. The two areas added to the game provide new items and battles. They are nice to help provide more content, but since it is not story content, it doesn't feel as satisfying as the main game.
Visually the game is quite attractive on the DS, although I admit it does suffer from being on a small screen. On the other hand, people who played the Playstation version will remember that some people complained about loading times. While the loading times didn't bother me in the Playstation release, the DS version did seem to be quicker. The music in the game is just as memorable as ever, although I recommend using headphones to play this game to get the best listening experience since the DS speakers aren't the best.
While the DS version has its strength and weaknesses, at the end of the day Chrono Trigger is Chrono Trigger. It's an incredibly enjoyable games with one of the most memorable storylines ever. If you're a newcomer to Chrono Trigger and have no other way of playing it, definitely try this version. Even for long-time fans who may be skeptical about a new version might consider giving this game a try. It will give you nostalgia and send you spiraling back in time.

Bring back my memory
Still a very good JRPG to enjoy after 12 years. Maybe it would be better if they add some touches to the graphical side (like those 2D FF portable titles).

Best version of Best RPG of all time
What else can be said? Chrono Trigge is known to be the best RPG on the SNES, and some might argue, the best RPG to date... And the DS version improves an already excellent title... I don't need much to say but buy it, relive it, enjoy it!

Spanning Time
There's a lot to be said about this game. Chrono Trigger on the SNES was the RPG that got me into RPGs. It was my second RPG (right after Breath of Fire). And after Chrono Trigger, that's all I wanted to play, was RPGs.
So that pretty much sums up that this game is very worthwhile. The story and setting are easily the high points of this game. The game begs multiple playthroughs, to visit the memorable characters again and to see the different endings. Just in case there is someone who hasn't played it, I won't spoil the storyline, but just know that the way the game uses Time as a a theme makes everything so much more immersing.
Although most people have already played or at least heard of Chrono Trigger. And most people interested in this release are probably more curious about the differences of the Playstation version from the original version. The most talked about difference seems to be definitely loading times. This is really a subjective matter. Some people think they are unbearable while others don't even notice it. Personally, I hadn't played Chrono Trigger SNES since I was a younger, but from what I can remember, I would not call it unbearable. Sure it is kind of annoying to have to load when going into battle or opening menus. And I can see why it would be unbearable, because even just a three to four second load time can break up the pacing for some people. But don't let something like that detract you from a good game.
Another addition to the Playstation version are the animated cutscenes. To me, they were an appreciated addition, but definitely unnecessary. It's hard to describe, but they didn't seem to fit with the game. People who played the original might feel that these cutscenes interfere with the pacing of the game, especially because some of them are added in at key parts of the game. Then again, this is most likely me just being very over critical. There really is nothing wrong with these cutscenes.
For those that never got to play the original and this is their only method to play it, I highly recommend it. For those that played the original and want to play it again, I still highly recommend it. Even with the changes, this is definitely one of those games you'll just want to experience over and over again.

The best of yesteryear
Many years ago, Square made one fo the best rpg games ever. It included many elements of what makes a good rpg including a good interface, storyline and even the position of your characters in battle makes a difference.
If there is one game that has stood the test of time, this is it. In saying that, if you were expecting any significant changes, you'll be disappointed. Other than the addition of a dungeon, cut scenes and a new monster arena, the game is exactly the same. For fans of the original or those that never got to try it, it is a must-buy.

Still the best
Chrono trigger is still one of the best RPGs of all time (along with the Phantasy Star and Shining Force 16bit games). The DS port doesn't do anything wrong to taint that reputation. However, neither does it really add to the game. So, if you were not a fan of the original or can't handle a turn based RPG with a long storyline then this probably isn't for you. Definately a worthy addition to any classic RPG collection.

The combined effort by Square and Enix
Since the merge between Square and Enix, the two giants in the J-RPG market, people take for granted that they work as a team. Yet when it was announced in the early 1990s, you can imagin how excited players were to see the rival companied join the project. To many, it was a dream that came true. And certainly, Square and Enix did not disappoint us.

Finally one of the best RPGs of all time is available to the entire world - and on the DS no less! The RPG genre is great for the DS and Chrono Trigger certainly fits the bill.

A rpg classic
This is by far the best rpg of the 16-bit era, and I do think many agree with me. The gameplay is fast paced and easy to learn, yet hard to master. The DS version adds a new dungeon and a monster arena, so it's the definitive version. Buy it, if you haven't already done so!

Better than I remember
I played this game for the first time years and years ago and this remake of it is even better than the original with the added dungeons and items it really fleshes out the game and gives a more complete story.

Finally Available to PAL players.
I made the mistake of being born in this place, where after a staggering FOUR rereleases Chrono Trigger has never been available.
It was everything I dreamed of and more, filled with innovations that the japanese game industry has long since forgotten, and they are the poorer for it.
I cannot recommend this game highly enough.

Timeless classic
I never played the original, so my judgement isn't clouded by nostalgia :) But I found it to be a remarkably good RPG, that still holds up very well today (take note here developers, this is how you make an awesome DS RPG). Sure, it shows it's age in some places, but the graphics, music and, most important of all, gameplay are still great. I can easily recommend this game to anyone.

Chrono Trigger DS
This is by far the best RPG I have ever played.I already had finished it on the SNES but when it came out for the DS,I had to get me one.
The first run comes with a very nice poster.
If you haven't played this game yet and you like rpg's,then this is a must have/play game.Almost worth buying a NDS for if you don't already have one.
The game takes you back and forth in time and the plot is awesome, many different endings will make you want to play it again and again.

The Best!
Chrono Trigger is the classic JRPG experience, re-made for the Nintendo DS! Play the game today with improved visuals on the original, and it's portable! I bought one for myself, and one for a friend! Definitely worth it, also if you like this, you should get the sequel, Chrono Cross! Another awesome experience, Play-Asia also sells that! Also of note is that these are still the first run shipping, meaning you get a cool chrono trigger poster inside the game case! :)

Legendary SNES RPG now on the DS.
The best JRPG SNES has to offer.
Despite it's age, it still play very well by today's standard.
Those of you that never play or heard of SNES and love JRPG, please play this once in your lifetime.

Classic Styles Game
The old Chrono Trigger comes to NDS, the classic styles on high tech handled console. Never imagine that you would play this old styles game on NDS? You bet! But now it's reality and Chrono time traveler is again surprisingly make me "WOW". i like the old styles game, and i love this Chrono even more.

I love time travel!
Before I start this review, I must state that Im not an avid RPG player. A good friend of mine prompted me (several times) that I really should play this game, that its the best RPG around. I can not attest to that, hardly having any comparison material. I let myself be persuaded, and ordered Chrono Trigger for the DS.
I havent finished the game yet, but its safe to say that Im really enjoying it. Ive always been a great fan of time travel, and of fantasy stories, and this one combines the two in an awesome way.
You play the character of Chrono, who gets transported a couple of hundred years back in time with his friend Luca and with Marly, who he has just met. In the past Chrono manages to save the queen of his country in that era, who turns out to be the ancestor of the girl who turns out to be the princes Marly. Trying to get back to normal time proves to be difficult: the adventure continues in the future. A future that is very bleak because something has gone horribly wrong in the past. From there you end up at The End Of Time, a lonely place that lets you enter through every time portal you want.
During their adventure several characters join their team, each with their own abilities. Those can be magical abilities, or moves that you can only do with one of the other team members.
Battles are not always easy, but because you fight turn-based you do get time to think about the move you want to make.
Because the game is based on a GBA game the graphics are small, and the game hardly uses the touch screen. Though its understandable given the history of the game, it takes a bit of getting used to when youre used to graphically wonderful games like Mario & Luigi Browsers Inside Story. Despite that, its an awesome game. The storyline is intricate, but still, everything fits. The game is never boring, and keeps you on your toes: everything your hero does in the game and the choices he makes all have their (minor) impact on the story. You have to talk to everyone, research everything you so to be able to progress in the game.
So, you see, my friend was right in prompting me to buy this game!

Old, but not aged.
Chrono Trigger has stood the test of time very well, it made many leaps and bounds forward in a genre which continued on without taking any notes. So all those innovations will still be fresh whether you are revisiting or playing the game for the first time.
A very entertaining story line, which doesn't lead you by the hand, allowing you to explore the world and the various time zones. Graphics and sound, though made for the SNES/SFC are full of charm and personality.
Some people may find the combat to be too easy, I'm not sure if the DS version has been made easier than the original (it's been a long time) but that didn't spoil my enjoyment of this great game.
It must be mentioned that the game also has no less than 13 endings, giving replay value above and beyond most games, not only those in the JRPG genre.
If you have any interest in JRPGs, love the 16-bit era or are wanting to play an old game that plays great today, buy Chrono Trigger.

A classic that aged surprisingly well
Even 15 years after its initial release, Chrono Trigger still looks cute, the story has aged well and the music is arguably better than many modern titles released on living room consoles. The game also benefits well from the DS' touchscreen, with useful menu shortcuts and scrollbars greatly speeding up the interface. What hasn't aged very well is the difficulty. While probably still very challenging to first time RPG players, veterans of the genre will hack and slash through the game's monsters without batting an eye. Even so, the excellent story and music will make you want to keep playing.
(note: this version of the game is fully bilingual. To start the game in Japanese, set your DS' interface language to Japanese as well)

Still amazing
It was totally worth replaying Chrono Trigger. This is one of the greatest games ever made. If you haven't played it and enjoy Japanese RPGs, you owe it to yourself to pick this up.
Oh, and in regards to the the new content, it's nothing special, but you don't have to complete it if you don't want to.

It's the same Chrono Trigger that we all love. Only this one has more dungeons, a new menu system if you so choose, and you don't have to wait to go home to play it. One of the best RPGs right in your pocket!

The greatest of the jRPG genre
As a big fan of the game's sequel, Chrono Cross, my mind was blown when I played Chrono Trigger for the first time. The time-traveling experience is presented well and the side-quests have real impact on the world. The battle system is also done well and you can avoid most of the battles so the game doesn't get frustrating like most Japanese RPG's of the 90's that have random encounters every five to ten seconds.
If you haven't played the game and you like the genre, Chrono Trigger is a must buy. If you're new to the whole jRPG genre and own a DS, it is the best one to pick and it has great re-play value with it's multiple endings. For those who have already played the game back when it came for the SNES it's a good nostalgia trip. This game never gets old.

As good as they say
I've heard so many people say that Chrono Trigger is one of the best RPGs ever ... that's because it is! The story line is incredible and the battle system is great (and I usually hate turn based battles). They didn't give it the 3D treatment and I'll agree that this was a good choice since the graphics still hold up while satisfying your retro needs. Get it now.

It never ceases to amaze me how drawn in this game can get ... from SFC to NDS ... it's just the same story but every replay is just so different ... the additional quest is nothing big to cheer for but the main story still rocks solid after all these years ... timeless!
