Certain to be one of the most innovative titles of 2009, Knights in the Nightmare is wholly unique. Not easily placed in any one genre, the game requires players to throw out everything they know about roleplaying and strategy games and embrace something altogether new and fresh. Frantic, energetic action mixes with thoughtprovoking tactical gameplay, all within a beautifully-rendered fantasy setting and presented through a captivating, emotional narrative. Dripping with style and originality, Knights in the Nightmare delivers an unforgettable experience.
Excellent, but not for everyone. Knights in the Nightmare is a very unique and interesting RPG with a fantastic art style and demanding gameplay, requiring you to learn a whole heap before delving into its incredibly deep system. This will easily put off most casual RPG gamers, but if you perservere you'll find the game is addictive, enjoyable and challenging to the senses.
It's certainly not a game you can recommend to everyone, however for the more hardcore gamers and ones willing to plunge into a tactical and very in-depth title, Knights in the Nightmare is an excellent choice.

Challenging but enjoyable strategy game This is a great game but it does have a big learning curve and it will take a while to understand what's going on and to become good at the game. It took me a long time to master it but it was highly rewarding when I did.
I did find the story excessively convoluted however, the battle screen becomes really crowded, and you you do have to figure out how to use features like 'transoul' and upgrading items largely by yourself.
But, overall, a fun and unique title for the DS.

Another excelent game published by Atlus It's a unique game that takes you into a excellently crafted plot, by the means of a unique combat system that will sure surprise you. That system, and overall, the whole game, takes advantage of the dual screen and touchpad.
It's difficult to write a short review about this game, but if I had to point out the best traits of this game they would be :
- The beautiful art style , mixed with incredibly original and satisfying gameplay.
- The deep and complex item/soul/character systems.
- A fully original plot, which is enhanced by the means of the art book and CD with game music
- It's addictive and has GREAT replay value.
If you're looking for a different action/roleplaying game, but are bored with the usual approach to this genres and the crappy art styles, This is the game you need.
If you are a Atlus fan, or you know Atlus published works, this is some , if not the best, of the titles they've published.
If you want a challenge and a complex and satisfying game, that lasts you hours and rewards you for it, while enjoying great soundtrack and artsyle, that's the game.

Very unique game to own for DS Words can't exactly describe the amazing depth of gameplay this game possesses. If you thought DS can't get as deep of a strategy game with interesting narrative... think again.
There's quite a bit of information to digest in beginning hours of the game, but what comes after is one of the most unique take on semi-turn based strategy.

Amazing... Almost achieves perfection I'll keep it brief. This is an amazing game. The story is amazing and deep, yet never talks down to the player, and what may seem labyrinthine soon yields a rewarding plot full of characterization. The gameplay is fun in its own right (much like TWEWY) so people who don't care for story have something to enjoy here. The only flaws are that the tutorial is long and the gameplay *may* get repetitive to some.
If you can get it with the art book do so, it actually adds to the game by listing character relationships for when you fuse your souls. Also, don't bother with easy mode, normal is much more fun for a first play through.
