Puzzle master Professor Layton and his apprentice, Luke, have stumbled upon another mystery. Well presented, tricky, and engaging The sequel to the original Professor Layton is even more engaging than the first. Players test their wits with logic, basic math, and even trick questions! The puzzles also seem a lot less random than they were in the previous game and fit more to the actual scenarios. And of course, the game looks and sounds top-notch.

Legendary If you enjoyed the first you'll love the second. A few of the puzzle types may recur to the point of annoyance for some players, but otherwise two thumbs up.

Even better than the Curious Village If you liked the first Professor Layton then you will love the Diabolical Box. its the same sort of action, Puzzles, mysteries etc, but now it has more puzzles, more mini games & amazing cut-scenes. BUY THIS NOW!!!

TOP DS The puzzles of this game are absolutly amazing! The rewarding feeling of completing a difficult puzzle has no price. If you played Layton 1, buy this, if you haven't, buy the two of them. YOU WON'T REGRET!

Great sequel!! This is a great sequel to an already good game!
It is really surprising on how challenging some puzzles are even when the answers are right in front of you. This game really deserves all the praises it receives...

Great game If you are a fan of the first game the second game is a must. The characters are back and the mystery continues. I liked most of the puzzles and as always its the story that keeps me going.

Breathtaking I enjoyed Luke's and the Professor's first outing very much, and had high expectations for the sequel.
Thankfully, Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box did not disappoint, sticking to the same style and yet still including enough fresh elements to be interesting and captivating.
Clever and creative puzzles, superb graphics and audio and a story that kept me guessing right up until the touching conclusion make this one adventure you will not want to miss.
Professor Layton strikes again, and once more the experience is truly memorable.

If you love puzzles this is for YOU! This game is all about puzzles, if you love brain teasing puzzles theres no doubt about it go purchase this! The game has a fascinating story and amazing puzzles. Thats all the game is! Definetly one of the best DS games out there!

Great sequel It took a while to get translated (given the 3rd game is out already in Japanese), but it was well worth the wait.
Basically, if you enjoyed the first game, you will enjoy this. More mind-bending puzzles wrapped up the most gorgeously presented story and characters to come along in a very long time. Level 5 really know how to make a great game :)

Keeps up the standard Just like its predecessor, this game has a multitude of puzzles, ranging from the pretty tricky but fairly simple to extremely mind-boggling. A stand-out for the 2nd in the series, is the memo function. Instead of only being available for only the puzzles that required calculations, the memo function can now be used in all the puzzles, which is brilliant!
Keeping up the high-quality video and audio as well, I'm really looking forward to the rest of the series being released in English! Definitely one for all the puzzle lovers out there!

A True Gem Layton returns in this stunning sequel to one of the best games on the DS. At it's core it's a collection of puzzles and brainteasers, with great variety, you rarely have to do the same kind of puzzle twice. Unless you played the first Layton game. The only downside of this game is that some puzzles are only slight variations on puzzles featured in the first game. The presentation is far and away better than in any other title in the DS puzzle genre. Featuring an intriguing story with lots of speech and cutscenes. The Layton series can truly be recommended to anybody. Give it a chance and it will reward you tenfold.

Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box This game is a great game for all ages. We have three copies, one for the husband to take away for FIFO, one for home where our nine year old has beaten me and finished the game! The third copy was for 74 year old mother who loves puzzles!

Amazing It's just as good and addictive as the first game, and that's all that needs to be said. If you enjoyed the first Professor Layton, it's a must-buy. If you didn't play it, but love puzzles, buy it too!

A game that is perfect for DS Professor Layton is at it again.
Great characters, Great narrative, Great presentation - all supported with brand new thought provoking puzzles!
If you ever wanted a well made adventure game with immersive story with smart puzzles, this game is a must along with the first installment.
Can't wait for the sequels that are yet to be localised!

Puzzle-solving at its best! There is this saying that "if it isn't broken, why fix it?" Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box returns the duo to the same formula of puzzle-solving, but with an improved feature of travelling from one place to another this time. Puzzles are as fun as ever, and so are the new mini-games available in the Professor's Trunk interface that many who have played the first have enjoyed.
The story line isn't anything out-of-this-world, but it brings a fresh breath of air to games by not revisiting the same old formulaic story convention of saving the world. The music this time is really great although if one takes a long time to solve the puzzle it may prove repetitive. Gamers who haven't tried the first will have no problem playing this, but I highly recommend playing Professor Layton and the Curious Village first to get the best out of your experience. It is also an awesome game anyway.
In conclusion, fans of the first will love this sequel, as well as gamers who yearn for something different from old-school RPGs. However, if puzzle-solving isn't your cup of tea, then stay away.

Wow The Professor and Luke do it again! It was worth the wait for an English release of this game. The story line and game play is fantastic! A must have for any game fan!
