Kyle Hyde, a disgraced New York detective turned salesman, arrives at a run-down Los Angeles inn called Hotel Dusk. Once there, Kyle soon becomes involved in a 30-year-old mystery that involves lies, betrayal, kidnapping, and murder. And over the course of the night, he will also discover something very special about Room 215 a room that is said to grant wishes.
But who is Kyle Hyde? Why is he haunted by his past? And what happened in Room 215? Only by taking stylus in hand and navigating through the story's twists and turns can you learn the answers.
Hurrah for Hotel Dusk! Hotel Dusk is a wonderful gem of a game, similar to the Phoenix Wright series- minus the courtroom drama of course. A well thought out plot, superbly fleshed out characters and the conversations between these characters keep the story interesting and moving along nicely throughout the entire game.
Anyone looking for a detective/ puzzle solving game would be hard-pressed to find another as enjoyable as Hotel Dusk.
I eagerly await it’s sequel.

Live a mystery novel Hotel Dusk is a definite throwback to the point-and-click games of old, where you played detective and picked up items and clues to help you solve the mystery and ultimately unravel the game's plot. Unlike those games, though, focus is shifted much more towards character interaction rather than room exploration or puzzle solving.
While it does feature both those mechanics, where the game really shines is in its brilliant, deep script. Characters feel like real, fully dimensional people, each carrying their own unique burdens and pasts which haunt them to this very day. While solving your own problems, you interact with each of these characters and eventually set their souls free of sadness and guilt.
Featuring very stylish graphics based on rotoscoped animation, the game has a unique "vibe" that becomes very characteristic and alive. The game is fully played using the stylus on the left or right hand, with the DS held in a vertical orientation (similar to holding a small notebook on one hand).
A very good game and a very good book which will leave you wanting more. At the time of writing, the sequel, Last Window, has been released in Japan and is awaiting an international release.

Awesome game This is one of the best DS games I've ever played. The graphics are fantastic, and the game makes really good use of the features of the DS. The story is engaging and the puzzles are satisfyingly challenging. Highly recommended!

My Favourite DS Game Hotel Dusk is my favourite and best DS game I have ever played. It has a great story, fantastic art and fully utilises the platforms possibilities and makes even more possibilities of interaction.
Brilliant An excellent point and click adventure, with some of the best ingame dialogue ever seen. The puzzles are logical, the story intriguing and the graphical style (think Aha's "Take on Me" video) sweet. A must have for any DS owner.

Hotel Dusk: Room 215 Think adventure game, and the hardcore gamer thinks of Monkey Island, Dreamfall, or more recently, the Phoenix Wright courtroom drama series. Next up on the list is Hotel Dusk: Room 215 - an adventure game that places you in a hotel full of mystery. You play an ex-cop turned travelling salesman-cum-detective named Kyle Hyde, who ends up in Hotel Dusk as part of his job. Like many other dogged and dedicated protagonists, a proper night's rest evades him as the game throws him into situations with shady characters and random occurrences. The story starts slow, almost unbearable so. Stick with it though, as the plot thickens after a while. Give this game a miss if you prefer action to a good story, and absolutely cannot stand reading in a game.
Hotel Dusk is as text-heavy as games can get on the DS - almost everything revolves around conversations. On the plus side, every character in the game is placed there for a reason, with well-developed backstories, too. All of them have a role to play in the grand scheme of things. Hotel Dusk forces you to hold the DS sideways, like a storybook. Quirky as this gets, the game is thankfully both left- and right-hand friendly. One gripe many people would have with the adventure genre - you can get stuck very easily, wandering through the hotel trying to find the one object that would advance the storyline.
Hotel Dusk compunds the problem, with little record of what you are supposed to do. There is a virtual notebook in the game, but it stores so little that you are better off keeping notes on real paper. Some people might compare this game with another text-heavy series on the DS - Phoenix Wright. Hotel Dusk offers a bit more freedom in exploration, though the frustration of not being able to find something increases proportionately too. Hotel Dusk: Room 215 continues the legacy of the once-popular adventure game, with an intricate storyline and strong character development. If you love a good interactive storybook, this title is for you.
