Wylfred was but a boy when the valkyrie claimed his father's soul and sealed his family's fate. In the agony of the aftermath the boy swore revenge, and now for the man, the time has come to reap it. To the valiant she comes, and so to the battlefield he goes, Destiny awaits.
Fantastic game. Being a long time fan of the Valkyrie Profile franchise, I had my doubts on a DS port. It didn't take me long to cast those doubts away.
The series has always been distinguished with its unique battle system which I was pleased to find ported quite well over to the DS, with many elements from the previous games included.
Players are also forced to make decisions at pivotal points in the branching story allowing for multiple endings and playthroughs.
What impressed me the most however, was the English localisation. Covenant has received very special treatment in regards to translation with the script and dialogue sounding very natural and truly capturing the intricacies of the rich story telling. Whilst the English version is missing outside battle voice overs, I feel the fantastic translation job more than makes up for it.
