works as expected, but slow response
This unit works as expected and I've tried it with Mapthis! with CFW 6.2TN-E. I don't have other GPS product so I can't compare but there're things to note---
1) Initial fixing/re-fixing on GPS satellites can take up to 3 minutes
2) updates on bearing seems very slow and inaccurate
Otherwise, the PSP-290 GPS module is a fine product.

Great item and service
play-asia is fast on deliver the item to my place,great service,will buy items from them again.
on the other hand,the GPS receiver need sometime to figure out how to work,thanks to youtube,I can figure out within 1 hour,may be play-asia can make an official video to teach the buyer how to get it work?just my two cents opinion.

Thanks for the speedy Transaction of this unit of course i have choose fedex for the tracability
it just took 2 Days to shipped =) and im very happy about the product. no software as i expected but other sites have instructed me to install the app for this gadget a bit complicated thou but it is exciting. i will still purchase products with Play Asia. Thanks!!!

Extremely happy with the device.
Got mine yesterday (07/24/2008). I was able to lock-in to 6 satellites in 2 minutes and it was able to pi point my exact location. Really love it! Although i hoped shipping would have been faster. Next time I'm going to use the paid shipping. 5 star rating for the product :).

Using with MapThis and 3.40oe-a. Working well although a little slow in locking onto satelites.
Doesn't come with any software, since nothing else is available besides the homebrew Mapthis.
Main problem is insufficient detail on maps in some areas, but thats no fault of the GPS unit.

I'm very pleased with the PSP-290 GPS device.
It worked out-of-the-box, and should soon be supported by the "MapThis!" homebrew sofware.
The price is amazingly low for a device with such potential (especially from a company like Sony!)
