DJ Max Portable 2 introduces one more gameplay mode and offers a song selection of more than 60 tunes. In the new Fever Mode, you fill up your Fever ability which, when activated, speeds up the notes and applies a 2x score multiplier. By filling up yet another Fever, you can activate it again for a 3x multiplier, so on and so forth.
The game supports various difficulty modes, a language selection (to switch between Korean, English and Japanese), 4, 5, 6 and 8-button modes, a network mode and lots more.
Just like its predecessor, the soundtrack collection is stored on the UMD. You can play back and listen to the soundtrack without playing the game. The game also contains a DJ Max Portable (1) connectivity mode, which allows you to play old songs on DJ Max 2.

A must-buy for rhythm music game fans. You cannot miss out on this. Great soundtrack and addictive gameplay.
You can tell this a lot of stuff from DJMAX Trilogy was taken from this, this game has a ton of re-playability and many missions a tons of unlocks for notes, gears, and avatars which all give stat bonuses. I currently have 42 songs unlocked and there's still a few more I have to unlock has 4, 5, 6 and 8 button modes and the online vs is pretty fun if you have a buddy to play with or adhoc on the PS3.
In short, definite buy if you want a ton of great songs and a lot of missions to do and things to unlock.
I just bought another copy to give it to my girlfriend and she loved the game
Incredibly addictive rhythm game, even if it has a rather steep difficulty curve. There's a large variety of catchy songs, and you'll become appreciative of the music videos and soundtrack collection included on the UMD. The best part is it comes with Korean, Japanese and English as language options, so importation is no problem!
u got PSP, u got this~ DJ Max 2 is the most great series~
If you've played DJ MAX then you'll definitely want to get this too. The sequel features a link disc mode where you can play DJ MAX Portable songs on Portable 2's new interface. A new 5 Button is introduced here in addition to the other modes. Also, the Fever button makes it's debut here, when the bar fills up you can activate it to add a multiplier to your score.
Once again, excellent soundtrack, lots of memorable songs, and very few bad tracks. A good mix of genres are represented here. If you like these type of games, this series is not to be missed.
I love music game such as DDR,ITG,BeatMania, and many other which is usually by Konomi but when I first played this game the music got me addicted. I love the music and the notes that go along with it. It's the best for gamers that enjoy music!
After playing this I bought the rest of the series =)
You've never played a rhythm game on the PSP quite like this and when you can play the entire game fully English, its a must buy for anyone who owns a PSP worldwide.
I bought my PSP SPECIFICALLY for the DJ Max series.
I fell in love when I first saw it in a Youtube video. Now that I have been playing it for almost 2 years, I can say it's still as exciting as ever before.
I agree with previous poster raymond.diaz; withot DJ MAX, PSP means nothing.
The PSP system is made for DJ MAX. I only play three games on my PSP DJ MAX 1, DJ MAX 2, DJ MAX CE. Without these games the PSP would be absolutly nothing everyone should try it out.
I ordered this in june and havnt put it down yet. This game is a must for any PSP owner or music rythm fan with about 70 songs, hundreds of unlockables, stylin visuals, and almost no load time, this game cant be beat. One of the best games play-asia offers hands down. I give it a 10 out of 10
This game is so awesome, it's a definite buy for psp, if you music games
This game is amazing! I love the music so much and the gameplay is great. I never played and music genre games before because I thought they would be dull. BOY WAS I WRONG. This is a must have game for the PSP. Totally addicting game. ^^
This is an awesome game. It is challenging at first but the presentation is fantastic and the replay value very high.
The music is awesome, the gameplay is addictive, and there are so many extras to keep you satisfied for a long time. A must-have!
If you ever played DDR, Pump it Up, In The Groove or Beatmania and loved them, then you should really try DJ Max Portable 2.
It's playability is awesome, with note charts matching perfectly the song and the buttons. The game has cool sequences, features and tunes to keep you playing for long long time!
If you are a beginner with rhythm games, setting the game difficulty to "easy" will make things better, as it allows more mistakes in order to learn better the patterns.
Music and animation is simply fantastic, and the bonus features, like the OST mode or gallery mode make the game complete.
Overall, it's a awesome rhythm game with an excellent replay value!
This is indeed the best game (to me) on psp. I can't wait until I get the game to play, because it is my favorite game. DJMAX online is also very good, because they have good animations in the back-ground which adds on the fun.
Its my favorite on the psp
spectacular game. they have a demo on thier website if you'd like to check that out. I highly reccomend this game to anyone that owns a PSP.
if there is ever a game that needs to be purchased its this, along with the original. you will NOT be dissappointed.
best psp game i ever got. hoping they make a third.
This game and DJ Max Portable are quite easily the best PSP games ever. Addictive with catchy music, this series of games is quite simply amazing. While the game is hard to pick up and many beginners will find themselves struggling on the easier songs, the phrase 'practice makes perfect' truly does apply for this game. I have been playing the DJ Max series for about a year now and consider myself a pro at the 4B and 6B modes.
I played this game once while I was in Korea when my friend offered me to play. And wow, I was immediately traumatized by it. When I first bought my PSP, this was the first game I bought, all from that experience. It's pretty hard, but that's what makes it fun. I myself am a rhythm game addict, and this is definitely on my top list. The OST for this game is simply awesome. For anyone who plays games like DDR, Pump, or Beatmania, this is an absolute must-have.
The music is great, the difficulty is great, and the fact that it is in Korean, Japanese, and English allows anyone to play it without any problem. This is a rhythm game that is quite difficult even at an easy 4 button mode, so one who has lack of experience with following beats, and rapidly hitting correct button combinations will be struggling to get used to it. And you'll have to if you want to step up to 5-button, 6-button, and 8 button mode.
All the songs you hear on the website aren't available until you get some scores and level up in which they will start to unlock. A tedious task, but it is to be expected if you've played DDR, Beat Mania, Guitar Hero, or whatever else.
It also features an OST section to just listen to the music and link battle if you have a friend who also has a PSP and a copy of this game.
My only problem is the Music Videos for which the music tends to freeze making the visual and music out of sync once the music picks back up. I don't know why this happens but at least it doesn't happen in the game. Get the game, its well worth the money. Get the first DJmax portable to if you haven't gotten it. You'll get a little more out of this if you do.
The BEST0-e-s-t game I`ve ever seen!!
Can`t wait to get the 3rd!!!!!!!!
Live out your wildest DJ fantasies on the PSP with DJ Max Portable 2. It gets you going on several genres - from rock guitar riffs to piano prestos. All you do to trigger the magical showers of intoxicating sounds is to rhythmically thump the PSP's face buttons to musical scores that will scroll vertically on the game pad's screen. Impress imaginary audiences! Earn buckets of digital money (fake, of course)! Hire fancy-looking gear and funny-looking avatars to help you conquer increasingly harder musical note charts!
Beginners and genre veterans alike will share an intimate relationship with DJ Max Portable 2's original tracks - 60 of them. Kudos to the scores' brilliantly arranged note patterns and a risky score multiplier feature that rewards better players with more gold. A Fever meter fills you up as you hit all the notes accurately. When full, a boost of speed can be activated that brings about a time-limited 2X score multiplier. Your blistered thumbs, numb as a rock, implore you to rest. But the game's devilish combo of high-score challenges and utilitarian unlockables keep you rocking on.
I was never a fan of music game, but I am now after I played this game. This game can be enjoyed by everybody anytime ! Amazing music and addictive game system. A true Must have game for all PSPers.
the game is excellent with tons of amazing songs and although i keep on losing i just keep on going back and back to this amazing game

Pentavision has really impressed me with this game, the addition of the fever system adds more depth to the already excellent gameplay and with the addition of the new 5b mode, challenge mode, and link disk to the first DJ Max makes this a must get PSP game for all!
I never thought there could be a game better than DJ Max Portable, but now I've found one. A truly amazing game worthy of its predecessor's credit and status. Bravo. :)
This is one of my most satisifying purchase i have ever made. This game is great with a high replay value, and it has so many hidden stuffs, it really keeps you busy at least for a month!!! I would love to give this a 5 stars, but the only problem is that the loading can be a little irritating.
Must buy for any rhythm game fans!!!
Tons of features in this title will keep you busy for hundreds of hour if not thousands!
