description
Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII is the fourth entry in the critically acclaimed compilation of Final Fantasy VII, which spans multiple platforms and delves into the intricate world players first experienced in FFVII.

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII for the PSP™ is an action-RPG revolving around the story of Zack, who had already passed on to the Lifestream in FFVII. The mysteries left behind from FFVII will finally be revealed in this exciting chapter.

Crisis Core has action- and menu-based elements. The new battle system is known as Digital Mind Wave, or "DMW", and revolves around a series of reels at the upper left corner of the screen which spin continuously as long as there is SP left to consume. Each rotate independently and upon lining up the three reels of the same character and value, a power-up or a "Power Surge!" will be rewarded to Zack.

The player will have full control over Zack when moving around, and can rotate the camera with the left and right triggers. Every now and then, a random encounter battle will occur. The battle takes place on the same screen as regular movement, with no transition or loading.

    Quite Disappointing
The first time you run through the game you realize a few things. 1: There is no really good materia tutorial, so you have to figure it out as you go. 2: NO SKIPPING CUTSCENES. This is so annoying when you loose a boss battle that you want to throw your PSP across the room. 3: NO CHECKPOINTS. When you die, you go back to the main menu, that's it. This is especially annoying when you loose a boss and especially when you have to keep going to get to it from the save point near it. 4: Difficulty is unbalanced between bosses to creatures which makes the game annoying. 5: Missions are either BORING or HARD. And you can't bring them into a new game +. After you beat the game you realize how annoying all these things and more are. And especially having to go back through boring cutscenes and cheesy story, not to mention horrible voice acting. So spare yourself the aggravation and broken PSP and skip this game, there's really only one good cutscene in the whole game and you can find it easily on YouTube. Don't buy this game.

    Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII
this game is so famously good, but a few extra notes... if an role-playing game is about getting into your role, then this game sets you up extremely well by giving your character some pretty amazing animations. i don't mean just the moves and materia in battle, but reactions in conversation, facial expressions (in the cutscenes that use the game engine), lip-synch for the english voiceovers, etc. if you are familiar with the final fantasy 7 universe, zack's perspective is a terrific point-of-view from which you'll get to see some key events, as well as take part in others. the new characters angeal and genesis have ties to old characters like sephiroth and zack himself. be warned, however, if you're not a fan of final fantasy 7, the story here may be bewildering, making the amount of time you'll need to spend on side quests and levelling a bit of a chore.

    Only for FF7 fans
missions are very repetitive and the whole story is very short, but still enjoyable for fans

    Wonderful game!
Despite what critics say this a great game, especially if you're a die-hard FF VII fan.

    Go prequel?
My friend let me play a bit of this. This game is THE reason why I'm suddenly buying a PSP (or else most likely I would have just stuck with my DS). Quote what one of the past reviewers said. "And this game is the reason Sony PSP sales boost up!" I really do believe that.

Best Final Fantasy game since FFX
    HOLY WOW.
I just completed this game last night. Blew my socks off. Amazing gameplay, amazing storyline, amazing soundtrack, amazing voice acting, amazing graphics. AMAZING. Not to mention great side-quests and replayability.
I have to admit, I am in no way a FFVII fanboy, it was my least favorite out of the PS1 FF's because I found the story too plot-hole-y. Crisis Core has given me a whole new perspective and amount of respect for the Final Fantasy VII storyline and series as a whole.
A definite MUST BUY for fans of the games. GREAT JOB Square-Enix! I am no longer displeased with you.

For those that love action-RPGs + FF
This Final Fantasy is different than every other FF for the systems. You can actually dodge every single attack exception of special skills aka limits in other words.

It's a game than anyone who likes the kingdom hearts game play with the REAL final fantasy twist to it. This is a prequel to FF7 the original video game released for PS1. This shows how and why Cloud did what he did, with previous tragic events.

I advise any FF player this game before Kingdom Hearts, ever if released at the same time of it. Most Kigdom Hearts players were playing based on the Final Fantasy stand point, not so much Disney. Good game but it is a 4 *, simply because it didn't knock my socks off, and no game is quite deserving of all 5, yet.

    WOW
Well I have to say I have not been sucked into a game like this for a long time.

Awesome graphics, great OST, great gameplay, lots of fun little mini games and 300 side misions, it's like they mixed traditional FF with action adventure, outstanding job SE!!!

Can only imagine the kind of sales of psp and the game itself once it hits NA hahaha.

One of the best PSP game ever made!
This game is something a FF fan would wanted. Over 300 missions, and a lot of rare items to collect, it gives you almost 100 hours of gameplay! And this game is the reason Sony PSP sales boost up!

So what are you waiting for? Get yourself a copy now! Play-Asia is your best choice!
