Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII is the fourth entry in the critically acclaimed compilation of Final Fantasy VII, which spans multiple platforms and delves into the intricate world players first experienced in FFVII.
Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII for the PSP is an action-RPG revolving around the story of Zack, who had already passed on to the Lifestream in FFVII. The mysteries left behind from FFVII will finally be revealed in this exciting chapter.
Crisis Core has action- and menu-based elements. The new battle system is known as Digital Mind Wave, or "DMW", and revolves around a series of reels at the upper left corner of the screen which spin continuously as long as there is SP left to consume. Each rotate independently and upon lining up the three reels of the same character and value, a power-up or a "Power Surge!" will be rewarded to Zack.
The player will have full control over Zack when moving around, and can rotate the camera with the left and right triggers. Every now and then, a random encounter battle will occur. The battle takes place on the same screen as regular movement, with no transition or loading.

Quite Disappointing The first time you run through the game you realize a few things. 1: There is no really good materia tutorial, so you have to figure it out as you go. 2: NO SKIPPING CUTSCENES. This is so annoying when you loose a boss battle that you want to throw your PSP across the room. 3: NO CHECKPOINTS. When you die, you go back to the main menu, that's it. This is especially annoying when you loose a boss and especially when you have to keep going to get to it from the save point near it. 4: Difficulty is unbalanced between bosses to creatures which makes the game annoying. 5: Missions are either BORING or HARD. And you can't bring them into a new game +. After you beat the game you realize how annoying all these things and more are. And especially having to go back through boring cutscenes and cheesy story, not to mention horrible voice acting. So spare yourself the aggravation and broken PSP and skip this game, there's really only one good cutscene in the whole game and you can find it easily on YouTube. Don't buy this game.
Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII this game is so famously good, but a few extra notes... if an role-playing game is about getting into your role, then this game sets you up extremely well by giving your character some pretty amazing animations. i don't mean just the moves and materia in battle, but reactions in conversation, facial expressions (in the cutscenes that use the game engine), lip-synch for the english voiceovers, etc. if you are familiar with the final fantasy 7 universe, zack's perspective is a terrific point-of-view from which you'll get to see some key events, as well as take part in others. the new characters angeal and genesis have ties to old characters like sephiroth and zack himself. be warned, however, if you're not a fan of final fantasy 7, the story here may be bewildering, making the amount of time you'll need to spend on side quests and levelling a bit of a chore.
Must Get Game, for or not for fans, either way!!! I've played this game because a friend of mine had it, now im gonna buy it, just because of how much of an awesome game this is....Story hit me so hard... T_T
