Project Diva is Miku's serious debut into the game world. Produce Miku into a top idol, control her dance motions in the rhythm games. The quicker your reflexes, the better she dances. Not only are you involved in all her performances, you are in charge of the back stage work as well. You decorate her chambers, coordinate her outfits and change her image.
Let other vocaloids join in the fun, see Megurine Ruka and Jyakune Haku in some of the MTVs. Get high scores in the games and take the chance to see your idols perform for you. Fan favorite songs are included in this fun package along with 7 new songs written by the fans.
This game is amazing! I really love this game. Not only can you play as all the different vocaloid characters (Miku, Kaito, Megurine, Haku, etc!), but you can create your own PVs using your own music with this game. You can make your own levels! It's totally amazing and well worth the money. A great game, even if you aren't familliar with Vocaloid! The only problem is it really doesn't seem safe to be pressing your thumb so quickly... Play in small quantities! D:
Fun game, and very addicting. This is one of the best games I have ever purchased. If you love Voc@loids, and rythem games, then I suggest you get this one!!
Something for all vocaloid fans I'm not a big rhythm game afficionado so I won't rate this compared to DJ Max or Ouendan, suffice to say I have played the latter and think the production values on show in Project Diva are off the chart in comparison.
For anybody who has gotten into the Miku Hatsune scene there should be some fun to be found in this game. Featuring big Internet hits like "World Is Mine", "Ievan Polkka", and "Hato" the game will have you tapping your feet as you tap the buttons. Each song has a lovingly crafted musical video featuring either a 3d Miku performing or a montage of 2d images.
From a gameplay perspective I found the rhythm arrangements to be mostly on par but a couple of the songs seemed to be completely mis-timed which made them frustrating to play. Similarly the difficulty level you play songs at seems to have little to do with the complexity of the arrangement with some songs on normal being markedly easier than others on easy. The game will keep you going for a while though as with each successful performance you unlock outfits for Miku and items for her room where you can watch her relax.
And if you find your favorite Miku track missing from the game on its soundtrack the game lets you take your own tunes and create (and choreograph) your own rhythm challenges which should keep the more musical players going for a long time.
Great game, lots of fun! I had a great time with this one. It has a wide variety of songs, and lots of stuff to unlock. I guess the only real thing I'd like to see more of is a little more interactivity when designing Miku's room. It's fun a couple of times to watch her examine the objects you put in there, but when you realize it's just the same responses every time, it gets old fast. Still, for a music game, I suppose you can't be too picky, and the music part is very well-done.
Miku Hatsune : Project Diva I love playing Project Diva. Project Diva came out in August of 2009 for the PSP and was #5 in the top 10 games bought in Japan within the August month. I bought and received my copy on Play-Asia.com and I haven't been able to put it down for the past Month and a half. This game has really intriguing gameplay taking in a from of a rhythm-style game. You just hit the corresponding buttons at the right time like DDR or Beatmania. The visuals on the game are simply gorgeous and all the Vocaloids are in this game. The replay of this game is also very high because once you have unlocked all the songs, there is so much more to unlock like costumes and furniture for Miku's home. There is also a collection of 200+ pictures to collect for wallpapers to use on your PSP. There is also an in depth create-your-own mode where you can chose a song off of your PSP and then create a dance and gameplay for that song. The possibility is endless!
Great fun, highly recommended for everyone Easy to get into, and very entertaining. Great music, awesome visuals, high replay value. For anyone looking for a fun rhythm game which doesn't require super dexterity to enjoy, this is the game to buy.
Easy To Play I'm please with my purchased, you don't actually have to understand japanese all that well to pick and play this game. It's really a cool game to bring along anyway and suits for every mood, even if you don't wanna play it, you can use it to do a PV mode and watch Miku perform.
Your Very Own Handheld Diva A great rhythm game with excellent replayability featuring cute Vocaloid songs and modules: what else could be better for Miku's first serious debut?
The rhythm game itself is very accepting: all difficulties are within achievable levels for anyone, provided that you take the time to practice. Beautiful loading screens, music video slideshows and creative modules really show off the fan-made side of the Vocaloid franchise. The repertoire includes every Miku song that made history in their growing franchise, and certainly does their long journey to being a PSP game justice. The unlocking of different modules really encourages players to replay this game in a new light every time.
One of the down sides to this Diva game is perhaps the Diva's Room itself. Miku's Room, which is accessible and available for customization by players, proves a little pointless. Sure, wall posters and plushies feature superb fanart and cute mascots such as Hachune Miku, but the interaction with Miku herself is kind of...lacking. She repeats her actions most of the time and does nothing but look like another decoration in her room. Disappointing for hardcore Miku fans looking for a Miku with relative AI.
Another downside to this game is probably the "Create your own rhythm game feature." Players will be excited to know that they can use MP3s on their PSP memory card to create their own music video or rhythm session with Miku and other Vocaloids, but the process itself is extremely tedious. Camera controls are tense and concrete, leading players to use preset camera angles, which eventually become repetitive. The placement of beats is difficult to master and the BPM is often the real culprit as to why your song isn't working out the way it's supposed to.
The rhythm game itself, however, and its exhaustive list of songs makes up for the two downfalls it has in the long run.
Overall, excellent rhythm game for our very own Diva's debut into the gaming world! Any Vocaloid fan should have a copy in hand!
Excellent Game! Great game with lost of superb tracks; fun to play and easy to understand! This game is an absolute must for Miku fans, or anyone who simply enjoys tapping their fingers to the beat of good music.
nice music game with lot of features Its the first miku game on psp. after seeing the pv of this game i have decided to buy it and the i am glad that i have bought it, it is a wonderful music game with a lot of different features, for example of the different char you can select, making your own miku song/dance, and also to creat your own room. But there is one thing about this game that is not so great, it laggs when there are alot of notes..over all it is a great game, if you are a miku fan, this is a must have.
Awesome Game for Vocaloid/Miku fans Addicting game and not too hard to pick up like other rhythm games. Fun to watch your avatar(Miku) dance around on the screen :) though distracting sometimes, not a bad thing. Lots of unlockables and other things to do such as making your own pv's.
Love the songs in the game, definitely looking forward to a sequel or another Vocaloid rhythm game.
Hatsune Miku Fans Got this game because i love Vocaloid song and Miku, if your a fan you should really considered getting this, it's easily playable even if it is in japanese.
For the HARDCORE Miku fans! If you enjoy listening to Miku songs, this is the game for you. However, I'm sure other rythm game lovers will appreciate this game since the songs are so nicely composed. By the way, this game received an extra star from me because I pre-ordered it and received a figurine of Miku :)
Simple, yet addictive If you are an average rhythm game lover, chances are you might find this game boring. The gameplay is really simple, and the songs aren't really that great outside of Miku fandom. Aside from this, you have a cute character with cute unlockable costumes, and a room just for Miku that you can change around a bit to show off to other Project DIVA owners through ADHOC.
The biggest feature though is the game's Edit Mode. Aside from the basic "customizing button input" for songs, you can customize the background video for the game file you create: the background stage, and even the way Miku can dance. And, of course, the most notable point of Project DIVA's Edit Mode is being able to import your favorite MP3s into the game. If you're dissatisfied with the songs the game has to offer, but enjoy the character, put in your own MP3s for your fullest enjoyment.

New favorite game I LOVE This game! I have played it so much since I got it!
The music is very high quality, the visual are amazing!(To the point of being distracting from the buttons sometimes) You gent plenty of costumes for Miku, and some of the other Vocaloids to unlock, as well as a cool "Miku's Room" mini-game, which is just decorating a little virtual room with prizes you win, but it's really fun.
As far as game play goes, this game is quite fun, a mix of DJ max, and Elite Beat Agents. Sometimes it can be a little much to take in, but it offers a real challenge, which keeps this game interesting for months =D
My only complaint in this game is the fact only the Triangle-Square-Circle-X buttons are used, which can really leave your thumb hurting after a few hours of play.. But it's a small price to pay for such an adorable game!
Not to mention the cute Figure you get with this version. :3

A good purchase for the music / miku fan I have been a long time fan of both the music genre of games and Hatsune Miku, so when i read that this game was coming out i was quick to preorder it. The game is a relatively simple music game, using only the X, O, Triangle and Square buttons...dont expect to use your d-pad for anything but menu navigation. The music is great, a ton of my favorite songs as well as many new ones. Unlocking costumes is both a challenge and rewarding (many of the costumes are pretty nifty) but decorating your room with unlocked items seems a bit pointless to me. The game sports a lovely screencap feature that saves the images directly to your MemStick which actually is pretty impressive for the amount of opportunities availiable in-game that would make for great shots. The dancing is entertaining and the environments for each PV are pretty well done.
All in all, this game is a pretty simple game in terms of gameplay but is expansive on the amount of unlocks and song choices. I definately recommend buying it for any music genre or Miku enthusiast.

For miku fans mainly While Project Diva performs well for a rhythm game, its true value is found when used by a fan of Miku or Vocaloids in general.
The title is marketed at such fans and the little figureine is a prime example.
I would still expect someone who has never heard of Miku to still enjoy the title.

An okay game at best I found this game to be rather dull in the challenge department, with really lax requirements for high score goals and ease of difficulty. Which is a pity since there's a lot of great music in there. You're only going to be hitting up to four buttons for "hard" mode, and it's really easy to get the highest rating for unlocking items in the game.
I suppose with the target audience in mind, the game performs great in the displaying of the character with an easy enough game-play style so you don't really have to pay attention. And if you play certain songs so many times you can unlock a new costume for Miku. That's about what the game adds up to: dress up with mediocre game play in between.
If you're wanting to buy a fun music game, this isn't for you. If you're in the business of dressing up an avatar that dances to some catchy pop tunes, then this will be right up your alley.

It's Great. I like this game, a lot. Mainly because of the fact that I'm a fan of Hatsune Miku and what's all about. However, if you have no clue as to what Hatsune Miku is initially then, you may not like it as much.

Amazing and fun rhythm game i bought this game cause i like Hatsune Miku and songs,this is the first rhythm game i purchase and i find it a very addictive game,the gameplay is awesome,and have a lot of replay value cant stop playing this^^
u can import ur own mp3 songs to the game and edit in Edit Mode so u can create ur own edit play and PVMode with the imported mp3.
DIVA is really good game... BUT! If you LIKE hatsune miku and vocaloid songs... You must buy this game... If you want to play just rhythm game... this is not a good game for you... FPS of notes kinda mess up for the game... if you want pure rhythm game.. not a good game... but If you want to just enjoy and see Miku dancing?? THIS IS GAME FOR YOU
Great Game! I got this game ahead of the estimated time of arrival. I figured buying the original UMD was worth it. This game has high replay value. There are many costumes to unlock, and the same goes for the wallpaper.
Certainly Worth Your Money This game is certainly worth your money.
Perhaps even more, to miku-fans and vocaloid-fans.
Even better with the nendoroid puchi package.
Game of the year for PSP This is not just another game, this is the best rhythm game for the PSP. With very good graphics, amazingly fun gameplay and collectible new costumes for Miku this game will give you hours of fun. It will take you about 7 hours to finish the game and more then 25 hours if you wish to earn all the costumes and extra items.
Great Game This is a very great game. The Gameplay is very smooth, fun and somewhat challenging (Medium-Hard). There are 37 songs in total (Not too sure) and you can even ass your own songs.
You don't really need to know Japanese as one and easily figure out what is Play, Change Costume, Save etc. (There are also some guides online)
I highly recommend this game to Rhythm Game and Miku fans alike
