The internal design architecture of the new PS3™ system, from the main semiconductors and power supply unit to the cooling mechanism, has been completely redesigned, achieving a much slimmer and lighter body. Compared to the very first PS3™ model with 60GB HDD, the internal volume as well as its thickness and weight are trimmed down to approximately two-thirds. Furthermore, power consumption is also cut to two-thirds, helping to reduce fan noise. PS3™ combines state-of-the-art technologies featuring Cell, a processor jointly developed by IBM, Sony Group and Toshiba Corporation, graphics processor (RSX) codeveloped by NVIDIA Corporation and SCEI, and XDR memory developed by Rambus Inc. It also adopts BD-ROM (Blu-ray Disc ROM) with maximum storage capacity of 54 GB (dual layer) , enabling delivery of entertainment content in full high-definition (HD) quality, under a secure environment made possible through the most advanced copyright protection technology. To match the accelerating convergence of digital consumer electronics and computer technology, PS3™ supports high quality display in resolution of 1080p as standard, which is far superior to 720p/1080i.

Good Upgrade Sony has done a good job on creating the slim version of PS3. Well, this one will at least save your electricity cost. One thing is that, they dont include the HDMI cable inside the package :(

Great value I missed out on buying the PS3 before, but now got the PS3 Slim, so my gaming life can begin again. Especially cool that the memory is 120GB -- you get 60 to 40 GB more for hundreds of dollars less, excellent.

Great upgrade. Sony did the right thing with taking away the piano black finish and redesigning the font for the ps3. This system feels extremely solid and well built, like most of Sony𠏋 hardware. If you have yet to get a PS3, this is the time to jump on. The system is cheap now and very small. Well done.
