A pristine play.
To be honest, I was a bit hesitant coming into this game. I have a very limited knowledge of basic Japanese katakana, and had already played the Xbox version of the game. I wasn't sure if the $100 dollars was worth it.
Well, it was.
After about 70 hours of gameplay I can confidently say that the game is brilliant. The characters and story play out in a very similar way to the Xbox original, but with added scenes and dialogue for Flynn and Patty, the game gets a refreshing taste. With several new weapons for the returning characters and a full repertoire for the additional characters. With Patty becoming my new favourite character in the game, she adds a new kind of "win/loss" mechanic of good or bad effects depending on the outcome of various card games. She fits in perfectly with the flow of the game, and has her own unique style. Flynn perfectly fits the magic knight role that had been previously solely held by Raven, but with an emphasis on physical attacks.
The extras in this game, such as the additional bosses and the many extra side-quests add an extra 6 or 7 hours onto the main story, and many more will be spent collecting weapons and levelling up with the objectives of taking on Duke with Estelle solo on mania or fighting your way to the Spiral Draco while attempting to avoid the hordes of near-invincible enemies.
The game has the perfect playability that any other JRPG game has, and if you really need it you can look up a walkthrough. Kouli's guide is a must if you want to find all the secrets (Whether you know Japanese or not), but is not necessary. A great buy, and well worth the money and time.

Got it and Great.!
Is a shame that trophies are in japanese, but the game is great. It arrive to my house three days after it was shipped. And i'm enjoying it. If only bandai had't broken his promise to translate this game to spanish it's sales would be larger.

Best classic-style RPG EVER
The "Tales of" series has always been known for it's good story telling and interesting style.
This game is no exception: it took everything that made the tales series good and perfected it.
The story is good, the narrative is a lot better, the stages are all colorful and beautiful, interesting game play... there is a lot of fun to play with
