Isn't this supposed to be next gen gaming? Dark Kingdom is kinda fun so long as you have a friend to play co-op with you and you don't mind mindless, repetitive, and endless button mashing through hordes of critters as you smite your way through the levels. However, the game simply is not next gen, the graphics for a start are frankly abysmal, and wouldn't be surprising for a PS2 game. The plot of the game is so mind-numbingly simple and boring that half the time you forget why you are killing a particular group of critters in the first place, while the other half you simply don't care.
The game is a decent length and fans of games like Baldur's Gate might be able to forgive this game long enough to see it through. It really is much more fun to play co-op than single player, if only for the fact you have someone to laugh at the piss-poor quality of the game with.
If you are a fan of brainless dungeon hacking, I'd recommend this game to you, but if you are after a hack'n'slash the likes of Baldur's Gate with next gen graphics and all the whizz bang extras, forget this title. Even at a discount this game is a disappointment.
