Excellent for the Shutokou Battle fans and the WM fans!
This game goes back to it's roots. The SP system from it's predecessor Wangan Midnight R and it's spin off series, Shutokou Battle. The story is based on the manga. Engine wear is the upgraded form of the oil and water temperature in Shutokou Battle adding realism to the game.
One of the most underrated games on the platform. The online mode would have been better if many would pick up this title. Collecting cards and customizing your own car or one of the character's car for the online competition.
For a budget company like Genki, the graphics are definitely superior for an early release on the platform. Don't compare it to newer titles like Gran Turismo 5 though. That's a completely different game. Even it's arcade cousin is a different kind.
When buying it, don't expect the arcade gameplay for you'll truly be disappointed. Think more along the lines of Tokyo Xtreme Racer or Shutokou Battle.
This is one rare gem. Not to mention a cheap one. I recommend it!

great but kinda disappointed
I am a long time fan of the arcade version and manga series. this game is good especially I have a Logitech GT Force set up on my PS3, but it is lack of that pulse of the arcade version. anyway, arcade is fun because you are battling people face to face, not mic to mic:)
