The system in this online game mode is called an SOP system. This sets itself apart from other online games by making use of updates real time mode. With this system, you can locate your comrades, their opponents and know of their statuses immediately. You will never feel this close to your team members in any other online game.

Metal Gear Online (Japan servers) I too am disappointed at the disrespectful U.S. players, as well as the lag. Metal Gear Online Japan is totally different. The players there are well behaved, and the actually read the game descriptions too (You say you don't want +level 15's in your game, then you WON'T get anyone +level 15). It is EXTREMELY rare to see someone get kicked from a game. I also have an average connection, yet I experience zero to no lag at the Japanese servers!
If you love Metal Gear Online, but can't deal with the U.S. players, then purchase this! It's only $20 after all!
The only catch is that you have to create a new account for Metal Gear Online Japan. Because of that, you won't be able to transfer your Metal Gear Online U.S. characters, and you'll have to re-purchase your expansions, codec messages, and character slots as well. But in my opinion, re-purchasing them is well worth it!

This was an experience beyond belief I have been a dedicated fan of this game series since the begining. When it went online I knew I had to have it. But was severly disappointed once I got on because of the lag and the disrespect of alot of the U.S. players, I heard through other players that there was a Japanese version dedicated to the online version of the game so I had to have it. I must admit that I did have several reservations about buying a version of the game in a language I do not understand. But I was completely taken by surprise at how easy it was to work with Play-Asia they made so easy to order, they are extremely professional they have a great customer service dept. When I registered and got online I was amazed at how the game came back in english for me and how respectful the players were and that there was NO LAG!!!! This has been a wonderful experience all around. A+ Play-Asia!!!

An excellent experience. MGO in the past has been ruined for me by players with bad attitudes, a lack of respect in games and crippling lag caused by the distance between players and the server, the latter being especially true for Australian players, being shoehorned onto the "European" server.
By importing a Japanese copy, all of these problems all but disappear. Given, it is an online game, so some bad experiences are to be expected. But it has been a while since I played an online multiplayer game where it felt like everyone was out to have a good time rather then just jack up their personal stats.
For those worried about a language barrier, don't be. The game automatically switches languages depending on your PS3's system language. The only Japanese text you'll encounter is in the chat box, and in that case it's remarkably easy to get your point across with the pre-recorded voice commands.
If you're looking for an overall good experience, or if you've been burned before by MGO, this is exactly what you're looking for.

Something for the Collector!!! This was an awesome game that came with Metal Gear Solid 4 in the Us but when I saw that their was a separate Japanese Blu-Ray release I needed to have it!! Its a little better than the US release because I had less lag and and I played better quality players. Not to mention that the price isn't bad!!!!
