This is a great and fun game with many lovable characters. The theme of this game is heavy metal and Jack Black is awesome in this one. Price is reasonable, get this one from Play-Asia if you like action strategy game! :)

I REALLY wanted to love this game... but couldnt
I would give this game 3 stars but it has the best soundtrack of any game ever made except for GTA Vice City. I love Jack Black and I love all the games made by Tim Schafer (who made this game), but I just found this game a little tedious. It is an RTS of sorts, but the RTS part just isnt that fun. They were going to make a sequel to this game, and Jack Black was on board, but the publisher just didn't want to publish it. I don't really blame them. But sadly Tim Schafer is now making XBLA games instead. Smaller risk and overhead.

There is a bit o RTS to it, but even if dont like the genre, it won't bother you.

great humour and interesting world. lots of fun to hack and slash your way around the sometimes disturbing heavy metal-esque type universe, but can be tedious, and the controls can be clunky. definitely one of more interesting titles to ever be developed though. worth buying if you're a fan of off-the-wall video games or games that have artistic value.

Anyone who likes some comedy, this style of music and great action games would be a fool to not pick this up. This game also has RTS (real time strategy) elements to it, which can be overwhelming to some.
I bought a copy of this as a present for my sister....that's how good this is. When I showed it to my friends (we are all in our mid-30s), they were addicted!
The only negative is that the driving missions can be a touch hit-and-miss, so expect to replay them sometimes.
Expect and adventure through heavy metal record covers, and to laugh out loud!

This game is really fun and stylish, can't recommend it enough to everyone that at least thinks that heavy metal looks are cool.

Perfect match between gaming and heavy metal. Enjoyed the hours of playing and all the story about mankind and music creation was very fun. Different from everything else, makes it a must-have, specially if, like me, you take a super offer from play-asia.

while i bought this game being little skeptical, once i got into the game it was actually quite fun and the elements of the game came together quite well.

For some reason Brutal Legend freezes often with the PSN 3.30 update. This game froze, corrupting my hard drive. Thats right, I lost all my game info. Luckily, I had a back up of most of my game saves, but not all of them.
I do not believe this is play-asia.com's fault as the game freezing seems to be a common problem. If you are desperate to play this game, try to wait for a new update by Double Fine or EA. Or risk losing your hard drive completely.
Otherwise, I bet the game, even though it froze quite a few times. It was around 85% of the game completion when the major crash happened. Which I hear is a common place for this problem to occur.

While the addition of Jack Black is awesome and hilarious, this game's story was a bit short and the Strategic part of this game is simply not as fun as the rest of the gameplay (which i would've enjoyed more if they had focused on that a bit more).

Great story, great game play and great music make this one a real blast to play. Even if you don't want to do mission you can cruise around listing to tunes and having a good time.
RTS control issues can become a nuisance at times but if you stick with it the gameplay is addictive.

So this game, whilst initially looking like a god of war clone, turns into a really well written and fun RTS on console, with great strategic capabilities, but some minor control flaws letting it down. The one detriment to the games RTS controls is the inability to easily control where indivdual units go. This means units designed to destroy buildings will be attacking attack units along with the rest of your troops when they should be off destroying resource gathering 'fan geysers.' In the end though, this game has a very deep mutiplayer experience, and a fun, albeit brief singleplayer campaign.

My only problem is that after your done the side missions are pretty bland and are essentially the same thing over and over again with no real variation. But regardless I love this game.

Brutal Legend is clever addictive game, the designers have managed to blend the styles of God of War and Spyro to create a well focused story driven masterpiece. Combat is broken up with intelligent puzzles that aren't always the easiest to work out and cinematic cut scenes that have quite smart dialogue. Simply a must for any good gamers library!

But if you have half a soul and enjoy Metal, this is a great choice of game.

But the story is very interesting, almost everything in the game is designed with a good sense of humor. Soundtrack is amazing. When I play the demo, I found very funny, but during the game, the variation of the secondary objectives are few and become repetitive. The humor is excellent and have a lot of music (but i think that jukebox put always the a few list. - PS: I set all the musics).
The bad part is the game end very fast. In three days I finish the game, just playing four hours.

This should've been an awesome game but the camera doesn't seem close enough to the action, the storyline goes from funny to boring and the 'Stage Battles' are much more frustrating than they should be thanks to some bad controls & no keyboard+mouse combo

Great game, good for under $50
With 200 metal songs to listen to while you're driving around and brutal violence in a well-crafted world, this game is great for metal fans. They could have done so much more with the gameplay however, and songs in the car restart after events, getting out/into the car, so I knocked it down a star.

Of course the humor is excellent and the setting is cool and refreshing (metal-heads should grab it by all means). Nevertheless the game's weak points is the strategy part, imo. The controls are awful and it gets all messed up when many enemies are attacking and you're trying to manage all your different units to counterattack.

Brilliant but only to some
This game is amazing, the story, characters and world are probably some of the best seen in video games not to mention the amazing voice acting done by everyone. This game will make you love it and hate it. I personally loved the whole experience the only problem is you need to know what to expect! I got this game knowing the story would be awesome and the gameplay would be good and bad. If you do not enjoy RTS's you probably wont enjoy the game that much. Personally I will say go check out some gameplay videos if you don't like what you see then this game isn't for you. If you seem a little interested pick this game up! Heavy Metal Action RTS Adventure
There really isn't a quite a game like this where the whole game is a love letter to all there is to classic heavy metal. From music, art to dialogue, there's so much for heavy metal fans, and for the rest lies a fun, yet little unpolished, action adventure RTS game for you to enjoy.
If there is a fault with the game, it tries to do too much with different genre which can alienate the audience. RTS elements work like your normal RTS lite with a bit of Overlord/Pikmin and Dynasty Warriors.
If you walk into this game expecting a humorous 3rd person action adventure game, be ready to be surprised by a drastically different genre.

I missed this game, I was unaware of it till the other day when I just happened to read a review. Anyways turned out to be one of the best games I have bought in the last few months.. IMO as good as all the AAA titles. Uncharted 2, batman etc... If your a true Metal head you will love this game.. the sound track is the best in any video game to date.
