Dead Space is a legitimate scare fest. Whenever I think of scary or spooky games I think Fatal Frame, Resident Evil or Silent hill and some of the great scary movies made to games, (The Thing). Play this at night
Great game its interesting I would say that the game is really straight forward the story line is great and the aliens that you will encounter look great. The game will make you jump there are some scenes that will catch you by surprise great game to play but not for kids. Will recommend the game to gamers that like suspense and shooter games.

All that you wanted in the survival horror games you get in Dead Space. Excelent mechanics and a very good history make this an amazing game.

The only survival horror game that is better than this one is Dead Space 2. This game has the best sound design of any game I ever played. It is the single most atmospheric game I ever played (except for maybe Dues Ex 3). This game was so good I bought it twice. The 1st time on PC where the controls where pretty bad, but perfected on the 360. and this game is SCARY!!! I beat this game around 7 or 8 times!!!! and even when you know something is coming it will still get you! It isn't just about something jumping out at you. It is the lighting effects. The sound design. The detail. The atmosphere. The tension the game creates. you need to play this game in the dark and you should invest in a good set of DD Surround Sound headphones if you do not already have a pair.

If you're really into scaring yourself, then this is the game for you. The best part about this game is that you're in space. Despite being confined to a ship, it's amazingly fun with all that strategic dismemberment of your enemies and puzzle solving. =]

Dead Space is an incredible game, u dont get bored and it keeps u vigilant and if you get scared easily then this game will scare the hell out of you. Wonderful Game for Value
I've had a great first couple weeks with this game and I've really enjoyed the storyline behind it. The game reveals itself in a captivating and mysterious way that I felt was something really unique that the developers managed to pull of perfectly. Awesome game, while it has its share of cheap scares, the majority of the scariness comes from the suspense building up to the fights, unlike most modern horror games were it all comes from stuff jumping out of cupboards and other cheap stuff

great graphics and quite frankly its was stisfying killing off those necromorphs in pieces. Sometimes their entrance is slightly predictable but you can't deny the creepy atmosphere and the top-notch scare factor. BUY IT NOW. You won't be disappointed.

Scary Game is scary
This game manages to send creepy shivers down my spine each and every time I play. The mechanics are not the greatest (Isaac's got scoliosis, he runs like a ninety-year-old gorilla with no legs). But the monsters are creepy and gross, but it's really the sound and atmosphere that squeeze the life out of me and make my hair stand out on end.

This game is everything that Resident Evil 4 & 5 weren't, scary.
I liked the way that the characters health was displayed on the back of his suit, it kept the screen uncluttered.

Good game
Ive played the demo, found the game to be ok, but now playing the full game, realized that its much better than i expected. Truly scary environment, nice graphics and sound.
I recommend it, great cost-benefit purchase.

WOW terrifying and exciting
I have never turned off a game late at night because it was too scary until this game. The terror of this game is heightened by great jump out scenes, chaotic monster attacks in cramped quarters and a music score that makes your hair stand up on end every time. I wish some of the puzzles were more complicated, as in the early Resident Evil franchise, but I have been craving a game like this since Resident Evil moved to a FPS style. Great Game. Strongly Recommended.

Great horror !
If you want to get scared, you will find here ! Good game ! It could be a little bit less linear, maybe more dependent on my decisions but anyway !

Good Game
This game is a good space thriller. I have always liked space games and this one really encompasses the "alone in a dark spaceship" feeling. It reminds me of a sort-of space based resident evil. Overall a good game, especially for the price!

Creepiest game I've ever played
This game feels like being trapped in the middle of an Aliens movie. The graphics are wonderful and atmospheric, and the sound effects are bone-chilling. The environment was more interactive than I expected. Little touches like being able to kick over discarded drink cans and knock knick-knacks off cluttered desks really bring this game to life. And then there are the monsters. They jump out at you from around corners, pop out of air ducts, sneak up on you from behind, and just generally scare the heck out of you. I was reduced to a quivering wreck only a few hours into the game. This makes Resident Evil look like child's play! An absolute must for fans of survival horror.

Superb Graphics & Extreme Horror
For Resident Evil fans, you should not miss this as it's more scarer than RE anytime. The music is well compose to the feel of the whole game. It like watching & playing Event Horizon at the same time.

Scared me out of my skin!
This is the best horror genre game for the PS3, the story keeps you at the edge. The necromorphs jumping out of nowhere really scares you. The graphics are awesome, and the space environment is beautifully designed. i can't wait for the sequel.

A repairman in space fights monsters with mining tools. A great single player experience. The only reason I don't give a 5 star rating is that there is no co-op or online mode and some of the DLC seems a bit expensive but that's EA for you. I am very pleased with my purchase.

If you are into gore, this is one game you cannot miss! While playing the character, you might find it a bit sluggish at first, but in no time you would get used to it. The plot is fantastic, there is even a aidding device for you while pressing 'R3' which I personally think helps a lot rather than looking at maps. There are different weapons that could be bought while playing this game, my personal fave is the Line Gun, almost kills yr enemy instantly! Graphics are superb! Can't wait for Dead Space 2!

Imagine if they scrapped the GI JOE attitude of RE5, put it in space, gave you some cool space guns, and actually made the game scary. If you did that, you would get the biggest sleeper hit of the past few years...Dead Space.

Its hard to compete with perfection but Dead Space comes very, very close to it. Amazing smooth, not only does the game look good, but sounds good as well. The sound design is almost flawless. Having heard this game was coming from EA I was very skeptical to say the least. After going through the game I really think this is probably one of the best single-player games on the market. EA has done a lot to improve on the gameplay set by Resident Evil 4(Biohazard 4); you can walk and shoot, strafe and even rotate fully rotate the camera around character to explore your surroundings. An excellent weapon upgrade system will keep you busy throughout the mission as you decide which weapon to concentrate on or upgrade them equally. And you'll need it as the enemies become progressively harder throughout the game.
Dead Space also has some of the best audio and visuals ever seen on a console game. You'll have a reason to play through the game at least 2 or 3 times just to unlock all the content and achievements. Enjoy!!!

Chinese version?
The product that I get is basically the Chinese version, with chinese wording on the cover (which is different from this particular cover) and fails to mention that the manual is in chinese! Sorry but I dont understand a single word on it. Thankfully the game is fully english, but it could have been rated 5 stars if the manual is also in english because not all Asian understand chinese.

Dead Space is a legitimate scare fest. Whenever I think of scary or spooky games I think Fatal Frame, Resident Evil or Silent hill and some of the great scary movies made to games, (The Thing). Dead Space can be added to the treasure list for many reasons. After about two hours of playing I noticed myself feeling queasy and sitting near the edge of the couch to "see" better. I actually had to stop playing because I felt a bit too on edge! Around every corner I would stop and stare almost indefinitely at the collage of lights that seem to ruin one's sane perception of the situation. The music is absolutely, positively horrifying; Almost to the point that you want to just lower it or shut it off. It does such a good job of distracting the player from the true goal. Graphically, Dead Space is on par with Gears in terms of sheer detail and beauty. The absence of a traditional HUD is something that was a universe altering effect and I won't be surprised if EVERYONE did it this way from now on. The game menus are fairly easy to use and the kiosk purchasing system is eerily reminiscent of Bioshock. The story is pretty cliche as far as sci-fi goes; but, that is almost an afterthought next to the other achievements this game spills over with. Get ready to STOMP your way to the end and enjoy a pretty gory frightening feast.
