The Last Jam
Without taking into account the sad fact that the music and rhythm genre started by Guitar Hero has been milked so hard it has run to its own demise, Rock Band 3 would be a revelation. Taking it into account, it's still a solid title with support for the most intricate set of music game peripherals ever devised.

If you still feel the call to play these games, you won't find better. Just dust off the drum set and you'll be ready for a good time.

Great game but...
This is a great game as usual but i miss the conventional controller support as we had on older Guitar Hero versions. My wife love this genre but she only knows how to play on the controller as we learned on the PS2. This one i'll play alone and without her playing together i have no reason to buy additional songs to expand my game experience.

Anyway this is a must buy if you like it and like to play on the instruments!

Err... ?
- Great setlist

- Interesting way to play all the instruments, but not fully satisfying.

- The menu system, and overall "layout", is horrible compared to its console counterparts (obviously) as well as Guitar Hero

- Perfect use of the DS' buttons

The songs on this game somehow just fit together. Being that I only listen to extreme metal, avant-garde music of any genre or stick t one album/Artist for months on end - I had no idea what to expect.

But not only did this game open me up to some sweet music, it also managed to blend various genres in a way that felt right (in comparison, the Guitar Hero games have to stick w/ one type of music per game; when they mix things up the odd songs feel out-of-place).

However, there are two reasons why I can't give this game all of my love :P :

1. I don't know if it's the menu system, the design of the campaign (NO TOURS? NO STARS? NOT SAVING ANY STATS SO I CAN REVIEW LATER? T_T) or me not having understood the premises of the tour mode, but I'm stuck. First two "song packs" available only, without any explanation of what I have to do to progress onto the next stages.

2. My fingers hurt from playing it. It takes some dedication. Which is good. Musical games should be challenging (with balance) and especially on a handheld :D

So it feels that I haven't tried the whole product yet. My first IMPRESSION of it is that it delivers what I expect of it, but suffers from serious design flaw which a) puts me off a bit b) hinders me from continuing to explore the rest of it XD

Latency
If you didn't update the game to the latest version, there would be a serious latency problem while playing vocal. However, once you update it, the situation will improve greatly.

Why not?
Being already addicted to the series, you ask yourself: "Why not buy another one?". Great songs and new modes (pro mode, keyboard...), but that's it. Also, new "gear" is too expensive.

One RB to rule them all !
I had only RB1 and some DLC until I bought RB3 on play-asia.

And it is so cool to have your DLC and songs of RB1 directly in RB3. No need to swich for the other DVD, so that you can get a very big tracklist if you have all other RB games ! But beware, it will cost you a few bucks each time you want to export songs from another games...

Also, song selection is much more better, with difficulty per instruments and more details for each song when you select it.

By the way, I can confirm that this one works great on Japanese xbox 360.

Great games
with the feature guitar pro mode and keyboard, and DLC over 2000 songs, make this game awesome......but, the setlist, i don't think so. I think GH WOR setlist is better than RB3.

time to rock!
Great selection of songs and the Online liberty has plenty to offer if you cant find something that you like at a cost of course. I would recommend picking up the keyboard for this and also the pro guitar it adds a lot to the game and it makes it a lot harder if you enjoyed music games in the past buy this now!

Best Music Game Available
There really isn't much to say other than this is probably the finest music game available right now. The new approach to touring and band creation, and the redesigned interface, fixes all of the annoyances of Rock Band 2, and with over 2,000 songs available to download no other game has the same level of variety.

Harmonix. You've Done It Again!
Stepping up the Music Rhythm genre yet again, Rock Band 3 is not only a blast to play but can act as a middle ground between rocking out in a game and rocking out on an actual instrument.
Now with the inclusion of the Keyboard and Harmonised Vocals, the game supports up to a massive 7 players at once.
On top of that is the big feature, PRO MODE. Pro mode alone is worth the package as it not only teaches players the fundamentals of your chosen instrument but works to teach players how to play the song itself.
Not interested in learning an actual instrument? No sweat! It's still a great challenge and even an expert at previous entries are going to be back to basics to learn the new style of play.
PLUS! An amazing setlist full of fun songs to play and many more still coming via weekly updates.

Rock Band 3 brings a new challenge and a wealth of fun to any party night!

Simply the best in the rhythm genre
Rock Band 3 innovates the highly successful Rock Band formula to create a nearly perfect music game experience.

Everything has been improved, from the visuals of your created characters rocking in the background, to the highly stylish menu system.

Boasting 83 tracks on-disc from artists such as Queen, the Who and Ozzy Osbourne, players can buy over 1000 downloadable tracks from the online store, and export tracks from previous rock band discs to boost their playlists.

This game introduces the new keyboard instrument, as well as adding Pro modes of guitar, bass, drums, keyboard, and up to 3 people singing at the same time, so experienced players can try a whole new playing experience. Please note that you may need specific controllers for any of these modes.

Rock Band 3 is by far the best game that the genre has to offer. If you have plastic instruments lying around your house, you need this game!

Rock Band Improves Again
New Rock Band for console is now out and it does what Guitar Hero franchise tend to fail. Innovate.

All that you are used to are all here but what makes it truly amazing is content integration and the new "pro" mode including a new instrument.

Presentation has changed slightly for a bit more mature feel somewhat similar to what you've seen in Beatles and Green Day rock band.

If you don't own the new instrument or the pro guitar, you still get what you liked in previous rock bands and majority of all these songs playable with new options.

Get it - totally recommended.

rockband 3 ds
rockband 3 ds is the successor to lego rockband ds.

it has great songs, even including queen's bohemian rhapsody!

and it is more challenging than predecessor.

but little noisy sound and confusing gameplay are disapointing.

nevertheless it is great music game for nintendo ds.
