Can't get enough!
Purchased the deluxe edition a few weeks ago. The guide helps a lot, especially for rookies. This game is so addictive and if you hang in there through the hard battles (all of them) you will not be able to put the controller down. This game can be frustrating at first, but once you start leveling up and upgrading your weapons it's a blast to play. Every battle you win is rewarding and the online play is very unique, helpful and intense (when battling black phantoms). I am very pleased with the difficulty of this game, I find games these days are far too easy. Do yourself a favor and buy this game. You will not regret it.

You will die and die and die and die and die...
I didn't believe it at first. How difficult can a game get? More difficult than Monster Hunter? The answer is yes. This is one of the games where players gain experience, along with the game character as you replay the levels again and again, from dying.

Casual gamers can ignore this game, while hardcore gamers, if you can call yourself that, give it a go. The satisfaction of completing a level cannot be compared to any other game.

This is not your typical RPG
If you think this game is going to pamper you with initially dead easy enemies, only to slowly work its way up to tougher and deadlier enemies later on, you are greatly mistaken.

To say this game is hard is a gross understatement. Right from the onset, you will meet enemies who will kill you with 1-2 blows. Think you can reload your last save file? Think again, this game autosaves every few seconds and with every action you take, and there is only one save slot per character.

Why the big hoo-hah over this game then? To complete a level or finally landing that killing blow on a boss character brings near euphoric emotions. This game is hard, but beating it brings so much satisfaction, you will want to have another go at it again.

The only downside is that I felt graphics could be a little better. Otherwise, definitely a must-have for hardcore gamers.

A rare challenge in today's gaming world
Here is a game that is unlike almost any current gen game going around right now. While immensely challenging, you always seem to know how you messed up, keeping the game from being a controller flinger. Even within a few hours you'll see and feel how much you've improved, until you enter the next world and get crushed back to reality.

Demons Souls its a really fun, hard and rewarding RPG. You'll find yourself screaming victory cries everytime you defeat a boss or black phantom.
