Great fun, but ending is a bit weak.
The game is a lot of fun, the electrical super powers are well done. The Hero/Villan thing is a little too cartoony-extreme (you're either the kind of guy who saves kittens from a tree or drowns them in a sack - not literally though) but still a good game and well worth playing. The ending is a disappointment, but not enough to mar the entire game experience. Worth getting.

Infamous is one of those games that you would never expect to be SOOO good. From the easy controls to the awesome story, Infamous is must-have to every PS3 owner. The replay value is really high duo to the fact that you can play once as a Hero and once again as a Villan ( a.k.a. Infamous). It is an open world game, and you can either bring peace to the city or drag it to hell. Buy now and you won't regret it, I am sure of that.

The game is interesting and a decent sandbox game. The powers are interesting but, after a while you become so powerful it loses its challenge.

The moral decisions don't really play all that much into the overall game, it just depends on what you want to have as a power at the end of the game.

great graphics plus very good gameplay and story makes this game one of the best games for ps3 out there today. the game can realy suck you in and the fact that there are two ways of playing this game, good or evil, makes it even better! after playing it for a long time i can say for sure - THIS GAME IS A MUST HAVE IF YOU OWN A PS3!

for the lack of variaty in enemies and no real chalenging bosses and for the lack of good story which prevent identification with the hero/infamous this game is not more then 3 stars at most.the gray monotonus landscape is not appeling to say the least BUT playabilty is nothing less then in the leaguel of gta gow and better then the first uncharted.it is a pure fun game to play in and add the nice evil/hero sort of free will mechanism it worth the 3 or 4 stars. i gave it a 4 stars mostly for the fun factor which even with all the mentioned flaws is nothing less then the best of the year (if u ask me) so far.

Great snadbox/hero game
Very nice graphics and gameplay is really fun. The story is decent, with cut-scenes in great comic style. Getting Trophies is entertaining but not too difficult or monotonous. For me great game!!!

Polished origin story
inFAMOUS is in some ways feels like a prelude to any great superhero where he's just coming to grip with his powers. This works well with with the game and a story. The game looks great and seems very polished.
Only real issues is some side quests are repetitive but they are optional and the moral choices are very black and white even though i personally think his friends treat him poorly anyway.

Fantastic Surprise
I first played the demo and wasn't impressed by it but decided to give it a shot anyway.

The demo experience pales in comparison to the full retail game. The city is massive and detailed. It truly seems to react to you as your powers grow.

If graphics are a concern for you the game will not disappoint. The city is an example of beautiful decay and destruction.

The story is decent; nothing really ground breaking but it will keep you involved and moving along as you move toward the final battle.

My main complaints are that the power system only really rewards one path; mixing and matching don't really work so being good or evil depends on the powers you want more than any real moral choices. Also aquiring powers can be a bit repetative.

Overall, though, it is a fantastic game decent replay value. Well worth the price.

Glad i am a PS3 owner!
inFAMOUS is awesome in every way the game might be awesome: gameplay is fun, the music is great, the voice acting is great, but above all it's the story. It is absolutely amazing. The ending just turns upside-down everything you knew about the main character and his electric powers! 5 out of 5, one of the best PS3 games.

Not perfect, but well worth it!
InFamous is an amazing game, seriously consider buying!

I won't lie though, InFamous isn't without its flaws. There have been times where I've fallen through the ground and died. I've been launched off a train without knowing why. I've even walked though cars and other solid objects. However, all of those things happened so rarely that I could easily overlook them, especially because of how well crafted the game is.

The story and play mechanics are amazing and a lot of fun. The graphics are very good too. I can't say they are the best on the PS3, but they sure do very well.

All in all, I don't regret buying InFamous and neither would most other people.

A great game, with a few flaws easily overlooked
If you like super heroes, nice story lines and huge territories to cause mayhem in, then this is your best bet.
The graphics might be only ok at times, but the sense of power you get from this game is priceless.

It is great that you can play as a Hero or a Villian in this game. As you progress on which side to take, the game storyline seems to change.

One of the Best Exclusives in PS3
You start the game with an explosion. Confused and not knowing what’s going on. You wake up and realize you’ve got electrical powers. and you’re not sure how you got it and what you’re going to do with your newfound powers. This is a journey to self discovery and heroism.

The first time you play the game from the beginning, it lures you in, wanting to know more about the story. The story is great, the powers are fun and interacting with the people in empire city is realistic. They treat you the same way you treat them. You treat them bad, they throw stones at you. You treat them good they help you out even attacking your enemies for you.

Empire City itself has a life of its own. Televisions show news of what is going on in the city. Criminals in the city steal things and run away while pedestrians yell for help. Every landscape and skyscraper in the city is really detailed and mostly climbable. There is no need for cars as Cole (the hero in the game) can go almost anywhere by foot. Rooftops, electrical wires, walls help you travel around. Let your imagination go wild!

Although there are a lot of good points in this game, it’s got its share of bad points as well. It’s nothing too drastic. Like the slow downs on some parts or if there are a lot of action going on. The camera angles are stubborn at times which you can control manually, which is good.

Villains are unique. Although not too many, each of them makes it worth your while and the feeling of defeating them gives you a sense of accomplishment. It’s not too easy or too difficult to defeat them although you need to use your head and try to think of ways to overcome them.

Overall, it’s a great game and if you’ve got a PS3, this is one of the best games to get for your collection of exclusives. Replayability is a must cuz depending on your action in the game (being good or bad) will affect the ending and how the people in empire city will treat you. A MUST GET!

A lot of fun
A truly fun game - running, climbing, shooting mechanics are very well implemented.
My only complaint is that the environments don't change much as you open new islands.
But if you are looking for a fun open world superhero game - this is it.
*Can't compare it to Prototype as I haven't played it, but it has also been compared to Crackdown on the XBOX 360 - and I can say it is WAY more fun.

story is compeling makeingu want to get to the end of the game but the game is so good u never want it to end.

the difrances between good and dark paths are amazing makeing u want to play the game both ways.

A game about a superhero that never became a masked crusader
Cole is Cole, simply a man with electrical powers. Electrical powers that he got from a massive explosion in which he was at the epicentre.

That's what surprised me about the game, the story is told well and Cole always feel like a man that's not quite the superhero (yet). That he's struggling with himself and the position that the powers puts him in.

The story; told through comic cutscenes, voice overs for phone communication and recordings, tv shows placing the city in America with the politicians and media lying about what is happening as Cole and the rest of the people in the city is trying to survive. That's part of the reason I like the story I guess, the cynisism, but also that you are trying to be a good guy (well if you choose, as you can play the bad guy as well, somehow having that choice there helps).


But before the story I noticed the controls and how easy it is to move around up the walls and from roof to roof; how flexible Cole is as he can use his lightning powers from any position. How the button layout just feels right as I took on the enemies.

The enemies are hoods and drug dealers/addicts who were changed by the blast, some are similar to Cole in that they've got some powers of their own. The wide range of enemies and the ease in which you can identify who is who is another great strength of the game as you learn strategies to deal with the different enemies, using the strengths of Cole against them as he can scale buildings and attack them from any location.

Some of your strategies also evolve as you gain more powers as you progress through the game. Playing through the story missions you will gain more powers and playing the side missions you save parts of the city, also saving you from the annoyance of the simpler enemies who shoot at you from rooftops.

Additionally there are random events throughout the city with the hoods robbing NPCs or hoods having street fights against other gangs, some of the more impressive fights in the game are the gang fights.

The problems with the game are mostly related to the presentation, while the comic cutscenes are really well done and the voice overs are generally pretty good (Cole's friend Zeke sounds flustered as he is running through the city and talking to Cole, nice touch) the ingame cutscenes are quite bad, most of the characters (apart from Cole) not really having the quality modelling and animation that they can be looked at with a near camera as is used for ingame cutscenes. Then there are also the Karma moments where you choose to be good or bad, they are clearly spelling out exactly what you need to do, I would have preferred them only showing that there is a moment with an icon and then leaving it up to the player as the options that you have are mostly all game actions that you can perform anyway (attack, zap, heal, etc). There are also some bugs with the climbing and collisions, where you can end up at locations where you cannot save yourself.

Overall though the game is polished and a lot of fun which makes any minor presentation problems go away.

Missions are fun and relatively diverse, especially compared to other open world games. The powers you have make any fight fun, there are no real annoying difficulty spikes and where there are potential for annoyance the developers have put in checkpoints to alleviate the annoyance (GTA-devs: Look at this game for an example of how to do missions). Some of my favourite missions were the stealth follow missions and the speed challenges, missions where you have to rely on your ability to survey the city landscape to choose the right path to follow. Not to mention some of the really good story missions that were telling the story in a nice way as you had to chase after your objective.

Infamous slides in among my favourite open world (and superhero) games and after finishing it I find myself wanting more. More so than I ever felt wanting GTA, Assassins Creed, Far Cry, No More Heroes, etc.

A Must-Have PS3 Game
Very fun, very addicting. The story, the graphics, the gameplay are very well done. Although the side quests can get very repetitive. Still, the karma system is very innovative. So stop reading and buy this game!!

Greatest open world superhero game to date
Infamous is an incredible game. Highly polished and very addictive pacing, the game will suck you in the first 5 minutes, which every memorable game should do. The power of the Cell truly shines here with numerous particle effects littering the screen: no screen tearing or slow down. Combat is wonderful as is exploring the city and gaining new superpowers. Being able to play as good or evil is very innventive.
A must have game for any PS3 owner!!!

Really good plot with unexpected ending, fun and satisfying gameplay with plenty of moves and abilities.

Great and awesome!
Another masterpiece of superhero game which you just feel like to keep playing till you beat the game. Awesome graphic and gameplay features. It seems to be much better than prototype and it beats prototype just the graphic alone. Shooting the objects with super electric power to cause them exploded is really amazing experience. No game ever gives you such a superhero type of feeling and experience. Thanks Play-asia!

Great Game
it's does get a little repetitive after a while, but thats the common problem of all sand box games, this game might well be one of the least repetitives of its genre. the NPC in town really react to you depending on your reputation, story is very intriguing, and the final boss battle is arguably the best so far this gen. good for at least 2 playthroughs ( good and evil)

Great superhero sandbox game
Really great game, easily one of my best gaming experiences of this year. The controls are so good, it feels really good to control your character and climb inumerous buildings. Your character powers are so fun to use, and as the story progresses they become much more powerful, making you a badass superhero.

Well worth playing
Def one of the better PS3 exclusive games out there. Sucker Punch continues to prove that they are a great team. Running around the city blasting enemies with lightening is a lot of fun, and the story and boss battles make for a great time. While there are a few issues in the game such as some minor glitches the game is well worth your time. If you have a PS3 you should get it right away and hope for a new Sly Cooper soon.

Great Open World Actioner
Infamous has you playing as Cole, a courier who unwillingly gets super powers thrust on to him as a result of a devasting explosion of a mysterious device known as the Ray Sphere. His city is in turmoil and under strict military quarantine, his girlfriend blames him for the death of her sister and he has no idea why and how any of these things happened to him.

Throughout the course of Infamous Cole finds the answers to all these questions and earns a few nifty powers to boot. He can also decide whether or not to use his newfound powers for good or for evil. In addition to cosmetic changes (similarly seen in Fable), the city changes according to Cole's alignment and a second play through is rewarded with a different ending and extra trophies.

The game is set out as an open world action title (think Assassin's Creed or Prototype) and like most of the games in this genre it suffers from quite a bit of repetition. However the controls are excellent, Cole's powers a lot of fun to use, and the storyline competent and as a result more than makes up for this shortcoming. Definitely worth a purchase.

It's a good game, but full of flaws.

I just finished the game twice, hero and infamous sides. Yes the game is repetitive and yes most of the time you get attacked and you don't know where it came from. However, what I enjoyed the most about the game is the power that keeps growing with each new mission and the upgrades. I enjoy blasting enemies off the roof. I just wish I could fry them literally like in the game Syphon Filter (fry enemies until they turned charcoal by using your taser). Now that would be awesome. Maybe that would be possible in the sequel?
I enjoyed the game. I plan to play it again just to see the outcomes of the power. It does remind me of Star Wars - you can be a Jedi Knight or a Sith Lord

this game is all hype. the game is really boring. same missions again and again. the game play looks nice but sometimes doesnt work as it should. most of the time you are getting attacked with no idea where its coming from...the story is..uh nice..
