description
Red Seed Profile sets stage in a faraway village in Canada. The village is populated by around 150 people and is surrounded by vast forests and fog. Everybody knows everybody else, this is a place where people have no need to lock their doors at night. That is, until the villagers found the body of Anna Graham in the forrest.
The Killer in the Rain is back.
Although the villagers pretend that nothing happened, the mutual trust between them have disappeared, people with clues to the case keep their mouths shut, villagers suspects that the murderer is hiding among them.
You are Francis York Morgan, sent by the FBI to solve the case. Keep your wits and your gun around if you are to clear your mission, and to survive.

Red Seeds Profile PS3 (jap. ver.)
Actually misnamed "Twin Peaks gaiden".
Speech on english. The cover has same image as asian ver.
pros: visual style, details, game design, Twin Peaks stuff and Naomi Watts.
cons: few bugs into sound fx, some objects sometimes popup, open world not that open as in GTA San Andreas, camera options is not enough.

Worth a playthrough if you can find it
This game is a balancing act. Dated graphics, odd mechanics, sound effects and BGM that at times are out of place are made up for by deep characters I cared about, a story that was worth following (if at times was difficult due to Japanese symbols). All these pieces just balance together and make a truly interesting and different game.

A new survival horror great
If you don't mind poor production values, can appreciate completely bizzare/surreal story and characters, and loved the PS1 era of survival horror games, you will enjoy this game immensely.
Red Seeds Profile is pretty much everything you've heard about it. There are very noticeable technical errors throughout the entire game, and honestly, it doesn't take away from it a bit. The game feels like a breath of fresh air that the video game industry hasn't produced in years. The game pays homage to various survival horror games, most obviously to Silent Hill. The characters are truly interesting, the main protagonist especially. I was really surprised to see a character like this in a game. The story is very absorbing, absurd, deranged, nonsensical, but most of all, entertaining. The soundtrack caught me off guard as well, it's quite pleasing. There are a lot of nice guitar tunes to listen to. There is actually a bunch to do in this game, lots of side quests and collectables. The game is also quite long, and will definitely have you playing for over 20 hours if you complete the story. Do yourself a favor: get this game and don't look back.
Some info for PS3 gamers (I have the HK version):
-The game has 100% English voice acting.
-There is Japanese text throughout, but everything is very easy to navigate. Menus are mostly in English, and that is most important. Most interface related things are in English as well.
-Non-Japanese literate players will have the most trouble with: reading side quest info, reading the map, reading dialogue without voice acting (uncommon, all story scenes have voice acting), using the radio to quick travel, reading information regarding solving puzzles, reading information regarding inventory items. These problems can be easily worked out by using an FAQ.
-The game comes with a fold-out pamphlet detailing the controls/other mechanics in English.
-Overall, the game still delivers everything it needs to for you to enjoy it to the fullest. Not being able to read Japanese shouldn't pose any big problems.
-It's the exact same game as "Deadly Premonition", "Red Seeds Profile" is the original name of the game.

Avant-garde on a Budget
[The Asian version's language]
The Main-Menu is in English, Also all spoken dialogue is in English. All subtitles, item descriptions, non-spoken dialogue... & pretty much everything else is NOT in English.

great game.... if you know who to read Japanese
well....... the title says it all - it is a great quirky original survival horror game that does have a very twin-peaks like feel to it, the graphics and music aren't the best, but the biggest letdown of all was..... it is completely in Japanese !! There is NO English language menu at all, so..... unless you know how to read Japanese or are willing to basically guess what is written on every single word that comes onto the screen..... you're not going to get very far in this.
