not just that.. a combination of a long and great story mode with a good, interactive and addictive online multiplayer mode is a great combination... lots of hours of fun... trust me, it worths every cent...
A Perfect End With such an intricate tie up of loose ends in MGS4 the bonds between the past metal gear solids are only strengthened, even deeper character development and almost a behind the scenes feel to the references to snake eater etc. MGS4's story line is extremely captivating for someone who's played the older MGS releases.
And for those that haven't there's a heavy presence of philosophy in the theme if this not so distant future warning us of the ways of capitalism and how it may end up.
Game play is brilliant, camera angles are well done, weapons galore, a lot of extra game play to do once clocking it eg. bandanna + stealth and some great new characters and back stories thrown into the mix.
The story keeps you coming back Metal Gear Cutscene 4 is what I call this game to myself. I haven't finished this yet, but I have a feeling that when I do, I will have spent more time watching cutscenes than actually playing the game.
The gameplay itself is solid enough - sneak around and attempt to get to a goal without being spotted/killed. Controls are quite clunky and you'll find yourself frequently swearing at them. However no matter how annoyed you get during gameplay, the story will keep you keeping on. It's epic, with loads of twists and turns throughout that will keep you hooked, playing through your frustrations just to see what happens next.
Graphics, sound, and general presentation are the best I've seen/heard on a console game so far.
two thumbs way up! what can you say that hasnt already been said 'bout mgs4? def a worthy game to be picked up. hands down one of the best looking games in graphics, story, game mechanics and etc, not just for the ps3 itself, but for this gen in general. to have a ps3 and not have mgs4 is a crime. go get it this instant!
DA BOMB! Arguably the best MGS yet! The controls are much more complex, but not complicated. You get to control more of Snake than any time before. The best of all, you see characters that you have long forgotten since the days of original MGS on PSX.

WOW Amazing!!! Read a lot of good review for this game, but man when i started playing MGS4, its like im watching a movie. Very good game, cut scenes are very impressive. I'd highly recommend this to anyone who owns a PS3. Surely a must buy.

a game so good , you cant put your controller down! when i first played this game i was amazed , the gameplay is awesome , the characters are great , the way they put everything together in this game is so amazing and the best part of this game is the STORY! and of course cutscenes :P(be prepared to do a lot of watching hehe) the story will keep you hooked onto this game you wouldnt wanna stop playing ! =) all in all one of the greatest PS3 games
Pretty Amazing It doesn't quite rank up there with Metal Gear Solid or Snake Eater, but it was a great end to the series. Tied up all the loose ends in the story left over from previous installments, and added a couple memorable characters on top of that. Also allows for (but doesn't demand) a more action oriented approach to combat.

Super fun game! Amazing game no doubt about it. For those who dont like long cut scenes though and very in depth story probably will find them selves bored at times. But all in all just an amazing experience!
The reason... When i saw this game i thought: "i must buy ps3...", and i dit it. hehe This game is the best game that i ever seen, buy it and take your conclusions.
Revelations truly magnificent , the true test of a masterpiece is when the combination of the elements on their own still cann't explain the end result , it's worth buying the PS3 just for this game .
The reason I got the PS3 If you have a ps3, get this game. Gameplay is trademark Kojima, and story is as usual epic. Cut-scenes although long, will keep you hook, as it is so beautifully rendered you won't mind sitting through it on your next play-though.
And the Greatest Hits version is half the original price!

farewell metal gear i'm very sad that kojima decided to make this the last. i loved every MGS and this is the best of them all. let's all pray for a prequel.

One of the best game ever made I don't like MGS series before... but when everybody told me that MGS4 was one of the best game... so i'm gonna tell you...

A landmark in video game history Some people complain that it's too much like a movie, but I think that it is because MGS4 tries to be not like your typical video game, and it has done so very well.
One amazing aspect of this game is its production value. MGS4 was the very first game I played on the PS3, and that was a big mistake. Why? Because it became my benchmark for how good a game should look on the PS3. After playing several other games, I was quite disappointed because none looked as gorgeous as MGS4. This game is truly the benchmark for next generation gaming visuals and in other points of production as well.
Definitely a landmark in video game history. As a gamer, you cannot miss out on this game. It is one of the most awesome gaming experiences I have ever had.

MGS saga ends with a big bang what can i say..this is PS3's killer title..i can go on and on abt hw great this game is..i've been telling my friends around that this is the greatest metal gear game in the whole series..the only downside of this game is the short gameplay..u'll be playin a total of 5 acts, all in different locations..bt even the short gameplay couldnt stop this game from being a masterpiece..METAL GEAR SOLID and SOLID SNAKE are unstoppable...all MGS fans should get this..those who are not should try..and if you dont wanna try, u should die...
No title Metal Gear Solid 4 is a game worth playing over and over again. The only thing I found discouraging was that the gameplay is too short and the game is too much like a movie..
Konami could have made the scenes in the game more user interactive like in God of War games where you have to input certain combinations for the game cinematics to continue as well.
Graphics is superb, story, sound, gameplay too.
This is a must have game which could have offered even more. Buy and enjoy.

If you call yourself a gamer, this title is one you can't miss some will say that the game is overrated well, i am not so sure they ever played this game cause if you do you will feel like a real movie-star who's trying to survive and it fells good.

everything in this game is too perfect and i don't think that there are similar games who keeps the perfection so well like this one.
The multi-play is one of the best for the PS3 not a COD4 but in it's way it's just plain fun even if you are rookie like i was you still will be able to learn and

Excellent Game on my Plasma 50inch ! I got this game today, but it was worth the wait, this game is spectacular, graphically and the story is insalely immersive, its like watching an action movie. it does show what the ps3 can do but its no where near its peak, ps3 is still got a long time to push this system, maybe GOW 3 will be pushing the limits. perfect 10/10
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots The white hair is showing and the wrinkles are obvious. Behind the dead eyes is a tired soldier who, in his last 20 years as a video game icon, has reshaped and revamped the stealth genre for millions of fans worldwide. But rather than simply decommissioning him, developer Konami and creator Hideo Kojima have crafted an incredible swansong for Solid Snake - one packaging great graphics, an intense storyline and formidable gameplay that culminates in an ultimate blaze of glory. The world of Metal Gear Solid is now filled with war, fought by mercenaries for hire. Old Snake is ageing prematurely (hence the new moniker) as a result of the cloning process that created the hero, but comes out of retirement to take out his nemesis Liquid Ocelot. Reunited with the majority of his supporting cast from previous outings, from Octacon, Mei Ling, Meryl and Raiden, the game also adds a plethora of gameplay elements that brings the action beyond the stealth genre, but still keeps the game firmly within its own universe. Instead of using a tranquilizer gun, Snake can now equip and use all weapons he finds and he finds plenty. Weapons can now be unlocked, upgraded and sold, via a gun-runner, enabling a seasoned combat veteran to customize guns to his advantage. Stealth still plays in conflict avoidance, but the idea is that if you are spotted in a war zone, you're more than likely to open fire rather then try to run for cover. Equipped with the Octocamo camouflage suit that mimics the color of Snake's immediate surroundings, Snake has the option of sneaking about and Kojima has balanced gameplay by peppering levels with waves of soldiers. Just because you've killed a few soldiers in an alley does not mean that more will not pop out around the corner to take their place. This freedom allows those inclined to action games to start blowing enemies away, while letting those used to sneaking around to play Metal Gear Solid 4 the way they want to.
The familiar radar has also been replaced by Mark II, a small roving robot that can be sent as an advanced scout to suss out enemy positions and even collect weapons and items. The older Snake must also contend with his age, as seen by the new Stress and Psyche meter. Keeping Snake constantly spotted or out in the open will raise his Stress meter, which in turns lowers his Psyche meter, which limits his effectiveness in combat. This is not to say that keeping both meters low is good because when they spike, Snake enters a combat "high" and takes on less damage. Whether it is escorting a team of new FOXHOUND soldiers or getting to a rendezvous unseen, gameplay constantly changes for Snake and this offers gamers a varied game to tinker with. In fact, there are many subtle changes that are too long to be listed, but rest assured, they add instead of detract from the excitement. Visually, Metal Gear Solid 4 is created to be viewed as a movie: as the well-acted and detailed cut-scenes return, each is created not merely to bridge the various levels of the game, but to form a larger narrative. Given the lengthy scenes, Kojima has added interactive elements into them, allowing players to view flashbacks during certain dialogue sequences with the press of a button. But despite the tales of death and destruction, Metal Gear Solid 4 does not strive to be a serious game with a moral tale. The game is filled with comic moments (look out for the one in which the soldier craps on himself) that remind players it's still a video game - albeit a very solid one.
Potential of PS3 A must for all Playstation 3 gamers. Great gaming experience and storyline.
The cut-scenes are lengthy however they do cover all the details and history so it's pretty much isn't too confusing. Also players can download the MGS database from the playstation store which explains and covers everything

The greatest game ever made. MGS4 is the representation of All Modern Interactive Media at its best. Games done only on the PS3 are games done right, as there is no multiplatform audience or hardware issues. Kojima set his sights on the hardcore gamer that didn't take mindless shooting over a great storyline, and really drove it home. Every second of this game is intense. A must have for every PlayStation 3 owner.
Must Have Definitely a must have game, especially if you are a fan of series. Worth every penny.
