Great shmup fighting game!
Most people complain about controls for this game, but I just had no problems with them. It is really unfortunate that Ubisoft made such a poor localization work...

Senko no Ronde - An Interesting Shooter/Fighter Hybrid w/ Faults
This is a somewhat different kind of shooter, as it mixes a shooter and a fighter into one. Granted, it's far from perfect, and the controls take some time to get your head around, but it can be fun. Not stellar, but worth playing through at its cheap price, I think.

Interesting concept
Interesting mix of fighting and shoot 'em up genres. Can be frustrating to control sometimes.

Underated
This game is a clever mix of shmup and fighting game. Its well balanced and the wealth of options available during the fights gives players a lot to learn and master. It looks deceptively simple but takes a bit of adjusting before you can play it at a decent level. The character designs are quite charming and the art design is nice except the mechs which mainly look pretty stupid. The story subs are hard to read and its kind of important to know whats going on in order to get the good endings. Like most fighting games it lasts longer if you have friends proficent at it.

Some of it seems glitchy
First copy I got of this (not from here) didn't even play at all! - and the game publisher and store didn't care to know what the problem was.
Shame the graphics aren't up to the arcade standard - when I found that out, I just went for the budget release of this (having imported the DC titles of G-revs previous two games).
The PAL booklet sucks - the control system makes no sense at all, and contradicts itself depending what page you read.
I find button-combo games never quite work out in reality as they are described on paper anyway, even when the descritptions are accurate. The kind that tell you to press a succession of buttons to do a specific move.
(the only system that works there is the old-school method - pressing different buttons at the same time! the way beat-em-ups used to do, and as Radiant Silvergun does masterfully.)
Not sure if there is some locking aspect to playing an opponent, because in the practice mode you can move around as you would expect to be able to do in any game - in the actual vs and story-modes though, your character is stuck (not from being hit) and doesn't go where you move it. You can't move out of the way of fire or position where you want to be onscreen.
But I haven't played the apparently-included original mode yet. 4 stars cause the stuck-character thing won't be G-rev's fault, it'll be the usual careless Euro and US porters if anything.
Shame on them for not even caring about a disc not being coded/finished right.

Sweet!
I love this game, but it isn't for everyone. If you're into mechs, shooters, or Japanese weirdness this game is for you. If not, look elsewhere. That being said I think this game is really fun. There are just enough playable characters and play over Xbox Live is fun. There is a lot of replay value here. Boss battles are straight-up shooter but there are fighting game elements to the regular battles and vs modes. The subtitles are hard to read while you are playing, but it doesn't matter since they really don't impact play at all. The story isn't very good. lol

not a ZOE like...
I was expecting to a ZOE like game, but actually, it looks like 2D shoot them up game... a little bit disapointed too...

Really dissapointing game. I was expecting much more.
The fight is slow and very easily avoidable. The melee attcaks are laughable. The Special moves are broken, Story mode is really short and easy, hardly anybody online, and lack of characters and replayability only makes this game not owning.
Just rent it people if you're interested in this game.

Not what is seems
I've had the Japanese release for ages and think that Ubisoft deserve a medal for having the balls to release this in the west.
A 'tactical-mech' game with very satisfying and deep gameplay. If you loved Virtual On for the Saturn or DC then you'll love this.
It looks more simple than other 360 games, but the game was originally made for weaker hardware. Although style of the game more than makes up for it.
It's definitely not for everyone, but if you like original games that are easy to play but difficult to master, this is the game for you.

Very amazing game
I wasnt expecting anything out of this game since I didnt like border down or under defeat to much but, this game is simply amazing. Playing more like a top down zone of enders this game is fun and fast. The graphics are very good and the HD upgrade on 360 is just icing on the cake. A must own rare import.

Yeah
Yeah, will work only on asian\jp systems, and I imported one just to play this.
The game is really great! Online battles are loads of fun, too! I'm glad G.Rev made this 360 port -> the graphics are much improved over the arcade version, but still has that cool simple and clean look. Great buy for any shmup or fighter fan with an xbox 360..(asian system only. who knows, maybe there will be a way around region protection sometime).

You can't play it. There is no mod yet that allows you to play imported games on your US 360. You will have to purchase an Import 360 to play this.
