Some of it seems glitchy First copy I got of this (not from here) didn't even play at all! - and the game publisher and store didn't care to know what the problem was.
Shame the graphics aren't up to the arcade standard - when I found that out, I just went for the budget release of this (having imported the DC titles of G-revs previous two games).
The PAL booklet sucks - the control system makes no sense at all, and contradicts itself depending what page you read.
I find button-combo games never quite work out in reality as they are described on paper anyway, even when the descritptions are accurate. The kind that tell you to press a succession of buttons to do a specific move.
(the only system that works there is the old-school method - pressing different buttons at the same time! the way beat-em-ups used to do, and as Radiant Silvergun does masterfully.)
Not sure if there is some locking aspect to playing an opponent, because in the practice mode you can move around as you would expect to be able to do in any game - in the actual vs and story-modes though, your character is stuck (not from being hit) and doesn't go where you move it. You can't move out of the way of fire or position where you want to be onscreen.
But I haven't played the apparently-included original mode yet. 4 stars cause the stuck-character thing won't be G-rev's fault, it'll be the usual careless Euro and US porters if anything.
Shame on them for not even caring about a disc not being coded/finished right.
Sweet! I love this game, but it isn't for everyone. If you're into mechs, shooters, or Japanese weirdness this game is for you. If not, look elsewhere. That being said I think this game is really fun. There are just enough playable characters and play over Xbox Live is fun. There is a lot of replay value here. Boss battles are straight-up shooter but there are fighting game elements to the regular battles and vs modes. The subtitles are hard to read while you are playing, but it doesn't matter since they really don't impact play at all. The story isn't very good. lol
No title Really dissapointing game. I was expecting much more.
The fight is slow and very easily avoidable. The melee attcaks are laughable. The Special moves are broken, Story mode is really short and easy, hardly anybody online, and lack of characters and replayability only makes this game not owning.
Just rent it people if you're interested in this game.
