Death Smiles is a shooter that combines cute girls and a gothic horror environment. Windia is a normal 13 year old girl who warped into Gilbaland, a fairytale place that was not on the map. The beautiful and peaceful kingdom, however, was constantly at war with monsters and demons. Since Windia and three other girls have been taken in by an elderly man who sold his services to the king for a living, to return the favour, the girls, using their newly acquired powers, flew into the sky to face off with the demons.
Cute characters, beautiful graphics and delicately drawn backgrounds, the game was a huge hit when it came out in the arcades. Take your arcade game home, published for Xbox360, the game retains its visuals excitement and gives you the comfort, or relief of playing the game in your own living room.
Excellent shooter! Death Smiles is very different than the standard Cave shooters but still has the top quality game design associated with all their previous titles. Includes several different difficulty settings so it's great for begginers or pros. I'm having a great time learning the various scoring mechanics and I'm sure it'll last me ages.
Friendly for even beginners While most shmups have crazy difficulty that require godly reflexes and are way unforgiving to beginners of the genre (Ikaruga / Dodonpachi), Deathsmiles has several difficulty setting that even casual players could enjoy. Unlimited continues from the start also enables everyone to at least see the game's ending if one sticks w/ it w/o repeating stages over and over, of course all the Xbox achievements would encourage you to work on your skills and strive for beating the game on one credit. The world is very colorful w/ a touch of gothic design and the soundtrack is very catchy as well. This is a fun shooter through and through for gamers of all skill levels.
one of the best shooters ever made!! This game is simply one of the best reasons to have a japanese 360... amazing, and just one thing that was missing: a widescreen mode... everyhting else is superb!!
Must-have If you own a Japanese 360 console and don't own this game, you should feel ashamed. One of the best pieces of work that is still exclusive to the system, everything about this game just oozes charisma and uniqueness. The action is fast and fun, the art design is amazingly unique, the soundtrack is out of this world awesome, and there's a lot of different game modes and difficulty settings to keep you coming back for more. Something you just have to experience for yourself if you even consider yourself a casual shmup fan.
Excellent and unique Deathsmiles is very refreshing. The gothic theme and story are quite unique, and so is the gameplay. It's not a typical horizontal shooter; like Sidearms or Forgotten Worlds, you can shoot and move in opposite directions, and enemies can come from all corners of the screen. There aren't many games like this, especially modern ones. Each character has a "familiar" that acts as an option, and positioning this little creature is often a key strategic element. The enemy shot patterns are also very fun and satisfying to weave through. The great art style and music are the icing on the cake.

The best Shmup I have ever played This game really took me by surprise; I was a little late to the party on this one. The music is intense and the action is none-stop. This is one of the best games I have played in years; it’s too bad that people will look over this game due to its art style. Take a look at this game if you have a Japanese xbox 360, it’s fantastic.
Everyone's Shmup Level select on this game makes it accessible even for beginning shmup players. Just like Triggerheart Exelica, it'd be silly to miss out on this game just because the character art looks like it's geared for a non-shooter audience.
Truly outstanding and suprisingly accessible To get Cave games on home console again is truly an unexpected blessing. To have them ported so well in addition to getting cleaned up sprites AND the black label version of the game available as a downloadable extra is more than a Cave fan would dare to hope for.
Death Smiles allows players to make the game comparatively easy for themselves if they want or very tough thanks to the excellent selectable difficulty system. Anyone even remotely interested in STG's should pick this up immediately.
A must have for your 360 library Horizontal shooters now are hard to come by, and Deathsmiles is your new drug. The difficulty in this game isn't very hard, but it's not boringly easy either. The mega black label addon is a must for this game as well.
One of the Best Shooters on Xbox 360 I do not like horizontal shooters as much as the vertical ones, yet this game has won me over completely. Nearly every aspect of horizontals that I disliked is countered in this title. You can and will fire in both directions, ahead and behind you. It is a basis of the gameplay, and touching edges of the map does not harm you in any fashion.
In true Cave fashion, Deathsmiles bombards you with massive bullet patterns to steer through. This game is an absolute blast to play through on 1.1 mode. The HD visuals on this mode are top notch, akin to other classic games that have had their graphics touched up for HDTVs. The music is fantastic and really sets the mood, a sure fire way of knowing this to be true is when a tune from the game gets stuck in your head all day.
DeathSmiles is a definate, must own title for shooter fans. Even if you are like me and prefer verticals, this game delivers on every level. One of Cave's best efforts on the system thus far , DeathSmiles raises the bar for what a great horizontal shooter can and should be.
The game also has downloadable content in the form of the "DeathSmiles: Mega Black Label" update. This is an additional game mode that has harder difficulty options, an extra stage, and an additional playable character. If you plan on getting the expansion, be sure to buy a Japanese Points card with your purchase, as a Points card from any other region will not work. Play-Asia usually has them in stock.
Final word > You need this game, it is one of the best shooters available on Xbox 360.

Please Grab It !!! If u see this game instock pls hurry add to your cart. Extra Rare in the Future ^^
Smiling at Death This is definitely one of Cave's most interesting shooters I have played in a long while. The 1.1 mode is the must-have on this game. It has the souped up graphics of the 360 mode, and then has really cool mechanics(like controlling your satellite with the right stick) that are optimized for home console controller play. And it has an extra stage just to round things out. Also, it has the option to purchase Mega Black Label, which is quite interesting too. One of Cave's most unique and fun shmups. I highly recommend it to any shmup fan.
