The cute, pastel colored shooter, Mamoru-kun wa Norowarete Shimatta is taken from the arcades and transferred to Xbox360. So those who were not able to catch it while it was in the game center can now embark on your journey to save the world of death from sinking into total darkness.
Large eyed characters, candy colored graphics coupled with adrenaline pounding gameplay, send your guardian spirit off and shoot down all those monsters in your path.
Brilliant! This an extremely great Shmup. An excellent fun little title, an a brilliant fresh addition to the systems current Shmup offering.
Gameplay-wise, this is definitely one of the more interesting vertical-scrolling Shmups i have played in recent years, which is attributed to it's gameplay mechanics which bring forth a variety of strategic options when it comes to stage progression and use of power-ups, as similarly mentioned by another reviewer discussing the games Noroi system.
Yet another great offering from G.Rev, for any shooter fan, be sure to add this one to your collection, unique, interesting, and wholly enjoyable, this game shouldn't be missed!

Very cute & addictive shooter This game reminded me a lot of the old Kiki Kaikai games... only with a lot more bullets!!
The character design is cute and the music is very catchy...
If you like your vertical shooters a bit different, be sure to check this one out!

More of a Just a fair warning to those expecting a traditional shooter. Yes, it's top down, and yes, there are lovely bullet patterns to avoid, but your character's movement controls the scrolling of the level. Mix Ikari Warriors with your traditional Shmup and this is what you've got.
That being said, this is a fun experience. The game is FULLY PLAYABLE on an arcade stick, so you've got another great game to use your stick with. Some prefer to use dual analog controls, but I lean towards the stick.
There are definitely better titles out there for Shmup fans, but if you've exhausted your other options, pick it up!

suprisingly addictive a fun and enjoyable game with a rather neat scoring hook also Seems to have alot of replayablity with the stage variations

Cute and unusual This is a fun, free-scrolling shooter that reminds me of a bunch of other games: KiKi KaiKai for the scenery, Forgotten Worlds for the bosses, and Robotron for the dual stick control scheme. But, in today's world, it's more fun than any of those. Mamoru's got tons of levels with branching paths, and the music is excellent. Even amidst other Xbox 360 shooters, it's still different enough to be worthwhile.
Excellent all-around This game doesn't seem like a very deep or involving game at first, but the more you learn about the combat systems and all the different ways you can play the game, this is definitely one of the best shmup offerings on the system. The game's music is absolutely awesome and harkens back to the old days of shmups, where it borders on 8-bit arrangement, and the uniqueness of the whole package is a huge breath of fresh air to the genre.
The idea of having a shmup where the characters actually walk on solid ground a majority of the time brings some interesting gameplay elements to the table as well as the Noroi system, where you can basically make your own, on-demand power-up specials brings a lot of strategy options to each encounter. Definitely an interesting one.

A Solid Shooter Title Mamoru-Kun is a vertical shooter with avatars that move on foot from a top-down perspective not unlike the base levels on Super Contra. There is an option to change to dual analog controls, whereby you control character movement with the left stick, and direction of fire with the right stick. This is similiar to games such as Geometry Wars or Robotron on Xbox Live Arcade.
This game has decent visuals, solid gameplay and replayability, and the music is decent. While I would not recommend this game ahead of Raiden IV, Dodonpachi Dai-Ou-Jou: Black Label Extra or the stellar DeathSmiles, it is a worthy shooter nonetheless. A decent pickup for those seeking to round out their collections after picking up the triple A shooters the Xbox 360 has to offer.
Great game and nice DVD! Excellent game and a good conversion superplay dvd and soundtrack included makes this a fine limited edition-far superior to the rather lacklustre death smile LE.
C'mon G-rev give us more!

Not the best,but acceptable. By cooperative effort from Grev ang Gulti,Mamoru- kun might not be the most favourable from my opinion.In the term of its depth ,we couuld finish and unlock every stuff in this game within 3 hour .Apparently,It 's not even comparable with the previous outstanding title,under defeat or senko no ronde rev x by regarding the hidden detail or addicted atmosphere after trying it once
However,focusing on the sales history and increasing price after It's sold out, Grev never encounter the success they deserve ,only less than 10,000 copies.As a result of the limited number of first print edition ,It' surely believe that It will have been at least 150$ by the end of this year.
