  features
  • Formerly known as Nintendo Revolution
  • This version of the Nintendo Wii™ only plays back NTSC/J (Japan/Asia) encoded discs (Wii™/Gamecube™ format)
description
  • The cool look: The new console boasts high-quality materials and a smart, compact design, approximately the size of three standard DVD cases stacked together. It will come with a silver stand that makes the system a welcome, artistic component of any multimedia setup, whether it's displayed vertically or horizontally.

  • Backward compatibility: The new console plays all games from the current Nintendo GameCube™ generation.

  • The secret weapon: The console also will have downloadable access to 20 years of fan-favorite titles originally released for Nintendo64™, the Super Nintendo Entertainment System™ (SNES™) and even the Nintendo Entertainment System™ (NES™).

  • Easy expansion: A bay for an SD memory card will let players expand the internal flash memory.

  • Two disc formats, one slot: Instead of a tray, a single, innovative, self-loading media bay will play both 12-centimeter optical discs used for the new system as well as Nintendo GameCube™ discs. Owners will have the option of equipping a small, self-contained attachment to play movies and other DVD content.

  • The specs: The system boasts 512 megabytes of internal flash memory, wireless controllers, two USB 2.0 ports and built-in Wi-Fi access. A worldwide network of Nintendo™ players can gather to compete in a comfortable, inviting environment. Revolution's technological heart, a processing chip developed with IBM and code-named "Broadway," and a graphics chip set from ATI code-named "Hollywood," will deliver game experiences not previously possible.

  • The stars: Introduction of a number of new franchise properties will add to the world's richest stable of stars, including Mario, Zelda, Super Smash Bros., Donkey Kong and Metroid.

  • Wireless freedom: A number of Wi-Fi-enabled launch titles are in development that will employ Nintendo's newly announced wireless gaming service, Nintendo™ Wi-Fi Connection. A worldwide network of Nintendo™ players can gather to compete in a comfortable, inviting environment.

  • Freedom of design: A dynamic development architecture equally accommodates both big-budget, high-profile game "masterpieces" as well as indie games conceived by individual developers equipped with only a big idea.

    Once You Go Black...
I've been waiting for a black Wii since launch.
The black color is the only way to improve n an already great system. I simply love it.
One problem is this version only plays Japanese games. make sure you're aware of this before buying.
Shipping was great. It arrived less than a week after I bought it. Been happy with it ever since.

    New Color, New Favorite!
I've had the white Wii since launch. I've been waiting for a black version ever since.
I much prefer black consoles over white, and this
doesn't disappoint. The black console and controllers add to what is an already good system.
The only problem is that is the JAPANESE VERSION and will play JAPANESE GAMES ONLY! There are ways around this, but you'll have to research that yourself.

    Great console, but..
I was really happy to receive this along with a copy of Brawl. Possibly the happiest game-related moment of my life. Sadly, the Console died on me just about over a year worth of usage. Nontheless, it's a great console, with it's game library expanding constantly.

    After 1 week playing
The Console works great, it's as small as the European one but in black, the controllers are colored black as well - Giving it a nice style AND a chance to see the difference between the two consoles.

The Problem I had at first was that I connected the Power-Converter before I inserted the Japanese Power Cable into it - making the Power Box explode, luckily I had the European power box left to use - Though this should have been common sense, I just didnt think of it on that time.

The most beautiful and sexy system ever
If you like the white Wii wait until you see the black Wii. It's the most beautiful, sexy and stylish system/videogame console ever created. The black Wii have a cool look (speacially with the blue light in the disc drive on, what makes it even more modern and futuristic) and unique and revolutionary controllers.

It's an indispensable piece for those who appreciate the design of eletronic system and new experiences!

I have a white Wii, but I needed to buy a Black Wii and do not regret. Even because this japanese system have the advantage of play games released only in Japan such as: Disaster Day of Crisis, Zero: The Mask of Lunar Eclipse, Captain Rainbow and Tact of Magic.

I was afraid to make purchases abroad, specially with large purchases like the Wii. But with Play-Asia I lost my fear! I recive my black Wii safe, fast and intact. It's a excellent store and has a lot of attention with its customers.
