Ben Randall's sea rescue team is killed in a horrific rescue mission. Emotionally distraught, he is given a tough choice to make - quit or take a position as an instructor at the USCG training facility in Louisiana. As his first love has always been to save people, he takes the position. Despite the tragic deaths of his team, there he meets a young man with unlimited potential, but with some secret that seems to hold him back as a team player. Ben gives him a lesson or two in life.
