Incredible Bought it mostly for retro gaming, and boy does it work a treat. The resolution is perfect for Mega Drive/SNES games (with lower res games being bordered), and the contrast, lack of ghosting puts the screens leagues ahead of the DS or PSP. Screen's really probably too small for movies and photos, but for gaming, it's a blast. Solid all-round.

Exactly what I was wanting, with a single short coming I've been on the hunt for a handheld system which will play videos and MP3's. I've looked and played with other devices but they've either had bad ergonomics, too big, poor screens, slow processors or just been cheap and nasty.
As soon as I saw the GP2x Wiz I was impressed, it's list of abilities was beyond what I expected or really needed.
Overclocking beyond the normal 533Mhz was a massive plus, as I knew a few higher end emulators needed the extra grunt to play the games smoothly.
I highly recommend this device for anyone wanting to get into those old console games, watch videos on the move or listen to music.
It's biggest strength is definitely the screen, it can be viewed from any angle as it's an OLED. The colours are intense and performance is brilliant.
Button layout is perfect, I've put 3+ hour sessions into it without the slightest cramp, and my hands aren't the smallest. The weight of the device didn't put any strain on the wrists.
Touchscreen was great for Scumm games.
Speaker performance is excellent, loud and clear in almost all situations.
Video playback is brilliant, most DivX/AVI videos don't need transcoding. Just drop them on and away you go. But to save space I downconverted the video to the native resolution, this takes 5 minutes.
The only flaws I really found was the sound quality for MP3 playback, I found the sound to be rather tinny. There are no equaliser settings to improve this, but as it is still being actively developed, I have no doubt it'll be improved upon in no time.
Also I purchased a highspeed SD card to make transfers faster, but connecting to it through the device meant I could only get 1/3 the speed from the SD card. It was 3x faster to plug it into an SD card reader and copy on that way.

Great handheld depending on your needs The wiz is a great handheld for emulation and other but it's not for everybody.
It's great, it's easy and painless to update. it also have a wide variety of other applications and the touch screen is a big plus.
one of the best things is how small it is making it really portable and it haves a decent battery life.
The wiz comes with and usb cable but if you're gonna transfer files constantly to your sd-card and specially if they are big files better get an sd-card reader as it the proprietary contact in the wiz ain't so fast.
That being said the wiz is great as where it stands now but if you have some patience it'll get much better later on.
So if you like to tweak and fix your games until perfection then i warmly recommend buying one now.

A must-buy for a retrogamer! An easy-to-use, stable and well manufactured handheld console for all the retro nerds out there. I've got zero complaints about it, everything has been smooth sailing since Wiz arrived in mail. Emulators work great, the console itself functions firmly and it's easy to use.

Very nice. I got this for my wife to play retro games. I was able to find several console emulators for it. The screen is small but bright, the sound is good. She is really happy with it.
