One of the best joystick out there this joystick uses Sanwa stick (the best possible stick component on the market, and is used by high grade arcade machines in Japan), give you the good "touch and feel" which is the same with the highest grade arcade machines. The Hori buttons are good enough for most gamers, and professional level gamers could easily replace them with Sanwa buttons by themselves.
In short, Hori one of the best arcade stick out there, and is a must for fighting games such as Super Street Fighter 4 and Tekken 6.
Good but not enought for the price the product is good but it's only a piece of metal with a Sanwa stick and Hori buttons and a big piece of empty plastic in order to add some volume and stability to the product.
it's true that if you change the square idler for an octogonal one and the hori buttons for some sanwas you got a really good stick but 150$ for the stick plus 150$ for the shipping and the duty (if you live in Europe that is what I paid) plus 45$ for changing the components...
In retrospect I think i should have buy a cheaper and more available stick and modded it the same way.

Robust arcade design with high quality components.
Bought 2 of the hori real arcade pro ex sticks and must say i really had a blast with my best friends playing SF IV after purchase.
This game was unplayable with other controllers for xbox.

Huge and fantastic ! Ideal for arcade party and retro gaming with the Xbox arcade Live catalog. Not for actual games using the left or the right original analogic stick.

One of the best out there Very happy I bought this product, the stick feels great and the unit as a whole is the right size. It isn't perfect straight out of the box, like others have mentioned, a few modifications can change that, I'm replacing the buttons with clear semitsus and changing to an octagonal gate so I find circular motions easier to do.
Overall, if you're looking for the best stick for the 360 (other than the SFIV TE) this is for you, and modding it makes it feel like the genuine arcade experience at home.

VERY Happy with this product!!! I purchased this stick a couple of weeks ago and it's great. Build quality is really good and it's very solid. Excellent for use on lap or table.
I modded the buttons with Sanwas to complete the package. It's easily modified due to the quick disconnect buttons and now it feels like a near perfect arcade experience.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this product.

The button response is alright, but for those who need faster response I would recommend you change the buttons to either Semitsu or Sanwa OBSF-30.
The joystick has a 4-way gate, which is really not ideal for fighters. Don't get me wrong though. You can still pull off moves with good timing, but the 4-way can feel very restricting for good range in motion. So, if your going to play Street Fighter IV with this or any other 2d game I recommend you change the gate to an 8-way Sanwa GT-Y - it will fit.
Lasty, I bought this joystick and I have made all the above changes mentioned. It is beautiful. My first option was the Street Fighter TE stick but the pre-order frenzy was over the top and I wasn't going to wait an extra month for a stick I needed now. The Hori Real Arcade Pro EX is the next best thing after the Street Fighter TE joystick if your concerned about good parts, easy modding, and decent weight.
