As mentioned by a previous poster (ambrinker) the cable does indeed have a problem with new LCD monitors. However, I've given the cable a full 5 because it's not the cable's fault.
The cable in itself is awesome. Comes with the cable a male-male VGA converter and an Audio RCA extension / Audio jack cable. With ...[§ó¦h...]
Totally useless fo WII I even tried differant screen modes but it reloads the screen so much and each time it resets the screen settings. So completely useless for WII. from reviews i presume that its good that ps3 but dont buy this for WII
Works, but not 100% As mentioned before, the Screen goes dark about every 30 seconds. On the other side, i just have a (big enough) Monitor and the Wii can´t be connected to it on another way...
On the installation process you still need a TV-Set so it is not just Plug and Play (but easy to setup)
Pricing is a little bit too high to ship the item without Customs-fees to Europe.
NO Crap but not Perfect
Gets the job done I wanted to connect my PS3 up to my pc monitor and this cable seemed to be the best option for the price. The picture wasn't amazing but it was decent enough. Much better than the older TV I was using.
All in all the problems I had were with my setup. Not with the cable. I had no problems with lines or ghost images. The cable did as advertised.
Works Great for my PS3 This worked great with a PS3 and a 2 year old Acer monitor. The only problem is a thin white line is visible on the top of the screen. It doesn't interfere with gameplay, it's just a little annoying, but no big deal. If you have a monitor that's gonna work with the cable, this is a great buy.
Lets face it As mentioned above, who would wish to spend so much money on a simple cable? the availability of a 3rd-party product is so that we consumers can save. this worked perfectly well for me hence the 5 stars
Don't buy this JUNK! Believe me ! It's a waste of money if you buy this JUNK! As I plug it on my Wii, the display goes black for 1-2 second very often. It's hard to play a game if you can't see anything, even for just a few second. When I plug it on my PS3, something more terrible happened! My display goes black and never recover! If you are willing to buy it, STOP! Believe me! I hope I am the last victim who waste money on this JUNK.
good but not perfect I have a 2-3 year old 26' inch phillips HD TV and for some reason my PS3 didnt look good with the HD component cable on the HD channel. It was too zoomed in and i couldnt fix it on my TV. My TV is more like a bigger PC monitor and even has a PC channel.
Since my XBOX 360, before it died, looked really good with the VGA cable on my PC channel, I decided to give this a shot for my HD TV.
The image is good but not perfect. It is HD and a step up from what i had before but you have to mess around with the image placement to get it centered.
It looks clear and nice but has a ghostly blurry affect on it, specifically on white images or text. Looking into it seems as if your high or something.
It is not as good as XBOX360's VGA HD cable but thats understandable because sony dosent make an official VGA cable.
Just got it today so im sure ill get used to it. Overall im happy but not jumping over roofs for this product.
If your not pressed for money and in the same predicament as i was, you should buy it.

It works but quality is poor I connected the cable with 3 LCD monitor.
And I got heavy ghost image in edge of screen and around text.
It works but quality is poor...QQ
Fortunately, It works with my monitor I heard stories about this cable not working as advertised, but after some mildly annoying adjustment, it worked fine with mo 19" LCD monitor.
It looks like some small monitors(notably 17~19" range and 21"+ low-budget models) have trouble displaying 1080i or(and) 1080p mode, simply because those monitors can't support that resolution.
It happened to my monitor, causing trouble such as severely warped display or annoyingly flashing display. The solution is to select only 480p and 720p mode, leaving 1080i and 1080p unchecked, since the display mode will always try to set the resolution to the hightest setting among the selection.
(It works find in 720p, although some portion of the screen remain unused, probably becuase of the vertical/horizontal ratio difference.
It's not the cable's fault, so I think the product works OK.
I dinged 1 star purely as the result of the same component in XBOX360 system.
PS3 version requires you to have 2 displays(or swapping cable repeatedly) since you have to manually change the AV mode on screen.
Meanwhile, XBOX360 VGA cable is much easier to find and buy(well, at least that's the case here in Korea...), and the XBOX360 VGA cable has much more simple setup procedure - you just plug it and turn the console on... no adjustment needed)
so, in terms of availability and user-friendliness, the winner goes to XBOX360 VGA cable.... thus 4 stars for PS3 VGA cable
(although I really thank the existance of PS3 VGA cable... otherwise I would have ended up playing PS3 with S-VHS + TV-card + DScaler setting.)
Not as good as the original Microsoft VGA cable. I used this cable for sometime now. While initially I thought it was awesome, I soon started noticing a slight ghosting of the display, which is usually caused by inferior VGA Cables.
Once I spent a premium and switched to the original Microsoft cable, the improvement in quality and sharpness was a major leap. I would suggest going for that one instead.
Oh and as a tip if you find the image quality a bit dark and bland, its because your monitor is configured for short distance viewing. Adjust the settings a bit and the image quality would be as good as it gets. :)
Cable for desparado!!! The cable works perfectly for PS3 to LCD monitor. The setup is a little bit hassle though as you need a TV and a monitor working side by side during the setup. The outcome is the same as what had been mentioned by DS9. The graphic grows a little dim and the white color parts are being brightly projected. Yet overall it's still playable and that's why I gave it four stars instead of three.
Works with the PS3 but not with the Wii First i have to say it was a hassle to set this up, you'll have to have your TV and Monitor Side By Side just to set this cable up, secondly the screen goes blank Most of the time for up to 5 seconds on the wii, total Deal breaker for me but at least it works for my PS3 just that its quite dark
Don't expect gamecube support (PAL) As the subject says, if you have your wii set to 480p (for connecting to an lcd monitor) don't expect pal gamecube games to work. PAL gamecube games had this removed and will not work if set to 480p. (no holding buttons like you do for ntsc won't work, it was removed for PAL games).
And yes, the black flashing is a problem, every single time you get struck with a lightning in mario kart. OTHER than theese problems though, it works good.
Only I? It grows dim overall and it is displayed though it tied to BenQ FP92W by 720P.
It is not easy to see by a white part's being brightly displayed.
Xbox360 ties with the VGA switch container and it is unquestionable in that.
Wii is not tried.
Good and the Bad As mentioned by a previous poster (ambrinker) the cable does indeed have a problem with new LCD monitors. However, I've given the cable a full 5 because it's not the cable's fault.
The cable in itself is awesome. Comes with the cable a male-male VGA converter and an Audio RCA extension / Audio jack cable. With this, the whole package is complete in itself, meaning you can use your Wii and LCD monitor without the need of a PC + TV Tuner card.
The end quality is awesome! The picture is really sharp and there is no distortion as there are small black layers added to top and bottom which maintain the aspect ratio of 16:9.
As far as the flashing is concerned, yes, indeed it's a problem. However, that is because the new LCD monitors have a problem displaying resolutions lower than native. Even when I connect the LCD to other inputs and when the resolution is lower, the LCD flashes once in a while. With this resolution, the flashing is really frequent though.
If you think your LCD won't have a problem / you're planning on using this on a CRT, this cable is a must buy!!
Works, but only if you have old stuff I've tested my VGA cable on a couple different vga displays, and here are my results: (using the Wii)
on a reasonably modern LCD monitor---
I encounter the same blinking problem everyone else has, this can be quite annoying and would have ruined the sale for me completely.
on a NEC Multisync CRT monitor---
The image no longer randomly blinks during gameplay, but instead only when the screen would flash white. The image is crisp and clean, so I would recommend using a CRT if your LCD has the blinking problem.
on my old Sharp LCD projector---
When hooked up to the projector, the blinking problem is not even present at all. The downside being this projector is so old, it will not even scale the 640x480 signal up, so the image is much much smaller on the screen.
This leads me to believe that the blinking problem has something to do with how modern monitors scale images, and I am clueless to a fix for it.
Works, but not so well I have both a PS3 and a Wii and I was looking to this as a nice way to connect my console to my PC monitor. Unfortunately the image quality just isn't there. On PS3, the image appears rather dark and there seems to be an issue with the contrast. Any color that remotely approaches white looks identical to white. For example, if you download the "Pixels" XMB theme then the font becomes invisible because white and offwhite appear to be the same color.
Wii seems to have better image quality where whites aren't so washed out in this manner, but the image does occasionally flash black randomly. The only game I've really played much of with the cable is Smash Bros. The black hasn't appeared during gameplay but often times switching menus and watching the cutscenes in the solo mode will cause it to flash black.
The saving grace is the fact that the games are still entirely playable using the cable. However, the image quality just isn't where I would like it to be.
Wii Issues Worked fine on my NTSC Wii when it actually did work. I encountered the same problems as listed above where it'd either shut off or go out of range which left my monitor going black then readjusting the picture way too often to make anything playable. I'll be content if it turns out well for the PS3 but I was hoping I'd get functionality for both systems out of the single cable.
AWESOME!!! I've had this cable for a little over a week and it's great! I have it hooked up to my 22" pc monitor and it sure beats my old tv! There is no loss in quality from what i can see. Make sure though that you have a way to get sound! I have it hooked up to my stereo with composite(white and red cables) jacks it the back. Overall I suggest it if you are still on an old tv.
Excellent for PS3 Excellent quality using PS3 on 19" Samsung LCD. All depends on the monitor I suppose, but after quick and easy setup, its great. Only downside is that the VGA plug into the monitor is a female, but a male to male converter is supplied. Not very secure in its place though (because the converter makes it impossible to secure with the screws on VGA cables), but it would still take a decent knock to make it fall out. Overall, I'm VERY happy with this product, saved me buying a HDTV to enjoy my PS3 :-)
Sometimes works playing Smash Bros. Brawl with this cable on a Viewsonic G90fb monitor. Randomly I will get "frequency out of range" during transition screens (such as end of a match to stats screen) I'll have to unplug the cable and plug it back in for it to display a picture again.
Frequent Black Flickering, No Matter the Mode (NTSC) 480p, 480i, Widescreen on or off, my monitor will display a black picture every minute or so (or when colors rapidly flash during 480i) during console operation for the Wii. This seems to either be a power supply or heat issue with the cable and the converter in it, but regardless, it is not working as intended. At least it worked at all.

Not recommended for PAL wii I was very sad when I received this product : it first looked to work like a charm, but every 2 minutes, I get a black screen, as if the inside vga box was off.
I guess there is a power supply problem with the PAL version, as I read the same problem with vdigi cable on PAL wii.
Maybe mayflash should propose a revision for the PAL version with the possibility to plug it on the USB port...

works great! At this price, you cant really complaint about anything.
This cable is very worth it. Not giving me any problems at all so far. Stunning graphics while playing Def Jam Icon & Gears Of War. Currently still using a 17" lcd monitor.
So sum up everything, Im very impress by this cable.

Good works just as good the the official Microsoft VGA cable.
wonderful experience I plugged it into my 32" LCD and BOOM! I'm in a world of difference from my original red-white-yellow cable. The quality is really excellent and I can't find anything to complain about this! Absolutely recommended.
HD what? I've gotten this because I was really disappointed with the official HD component cable running both 720p or 1080i only my HD ready TV. So I opted for this cheap and quick solution hoping it'll look better.
Surprise surprise!
I'm enjoying a totally new gaming experience once I turned on my 360. The graphics are much more accurate and detailed than 720p or 1080i mode. My only gripe is that it's not as sharp and my 360 is slowly dying on me (seen the 3 red lights once.. not hoping to see more coming..).
Anyway, this is a must have if you are tight on budget like me but still wanting to fully utilise your 360.
Much better than TV! I bought this because my TVs AV channels died and this was my only option. I bought the cheapest one I could find as I was after nothing special... but this is brilliant. Displays perfectly on my Dell 19" and the colours are perfect. I swear the quality of it compared to my TV is better as well =D
Highly recommended!
And Play-Asia, you're the best! Brilliant service as always and recieved all 3 items I ordered from you in very short space of time, intact. I wish I could buy everything from you guys =D
It's working It's working but the colors are dull and there's mild ghosting. Tested on both my LCD tv and computer monitor.
I guess you get what you pay for.
Amazing Does what the 1st party cable does, only at 75% less of a price. No contest.
And for those who mention the gender adapter, yall do realize they come with the Xbox 360 itself? I got one with mine, I'm assuming I'm not special and everyone else gets one too...
The VGA problem was fine, but did not fully solve my problem... This actual product is great. Great picture and everything,
BUT what I wanted the VGA cable for was so I could plug my Xbox 360 into my computer monitor. However, when I got the cable, I realised I needed to go out and buy a 'gender changer' adaptor (which in my case, I needed a female to female adaptor). I thought that was it so I plugged it in, picture was fine but now I've discovered I have to buy something else to get the sound working. Which is very annoying because I don't know what I have to buy. If you're looking to plug your 360 into a computer monitor, just prepare for a lot of hassle with lots of cables and adaptors!

No title Bought this VGA cable a few months ago from here, have to say the picture is fantastic and a big step up from my previous joytech component cable. Really impressed with the quality of the cable on my Dell 26" LCD.
At this price I really can't imagine how the other more expensive VGA cables can be that much better to warrent their higher prices.
If you're still using component & are curious to compare the difference with VGA, go for this, that was the reason I bought it & I've never looked back since!

No title works just as good the the official Microsoft $40 VGA cable.
Great cable Throughly impressed with it. Only problem is that I had to run out and buy a HD15 male -> female converter for use on my PC monitor. So if you're buying it for your PC monitor, make sure you're covered there.
Apart from that, a great tiny investment! And thanks to Play-Asia for settling out the shipping issues; you rock! :)

No title works fine on my 19 CRT monitor, you need to buy optical cable to use the digital sound, although I rather use hdtv, but monitor was the best that I can get this time compare to the original tv set
Its just amazing I havent seen the microsoft cable but this one is very good .. it looks great on my samsung monitor 793mb ...
the two things you need to take care of is that you will require a female to female HD15 pin connector to connect your monitor ...
its great buy it !!!!
Just as good as the Microsoft cable! I ordered one to see what it was like & was amazed too see how good the 360 looks on my Sony LCD monitor! Heard off sites that other third party VGA cables produced 'washed out' colours & overall picture wasn't that good. This is not the case with this!!!
If u want a VGA cable for the 360, then go for this IMMEDIATLY. I wouldn’t wait for the official one as you may ending up waiting ages for & plus this cable is much, much cheaper! BUY ONE NOW!
