XBOX 360 HD DVD PLAYER'S ACE
What can i say, i brought this from play asia in the sale a few weeks ago & it is brill, like everything i've brought from them, got it in a few days & very well packaged, PLAY ASIA IS GREAT, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK, MUCHO CHEAPNESS ;)

HD DVD Player
Got the player today and it works great on a European Xbox 360. You don't have to use the install disc and the power adapter is universal, 100-240V 50/60Hz. You only need a socekt adapter or a new power cord. The remote is in Japanese, but should be easy to use.

The player is a great buy.

Excellent service. Delivered to London, UK 36 hours after ordering. Product is as described, remote has japanese lettering on it but is very usable. As said elsewhere be aware that this doesn't come with King Kong HD-DVD like the European model but it's in stock and arrives fast!

HD-DVD
Works perfectly. Just of interest this does not include the King Kong HD - DVD. I know it doesnt state it does but alot of versions around the world come with the movie. No loss though as I dont like that movie, and the upside is I got it 2 months ahead of the Australia release. And as always Play-Asia shipped super fast, ordered Friday got following Monday. SUPERB!

Is it worth the extra.
I was buying from the UK and weighed up the option of either waiting for stocks to come back in on UK sites or maybe paying extra and buy one from ebay or use Play Asia. I opted for play asia as i have ordered from them before and have had a very good service. The cost for the item including shipping was within £1 or £2 of the uk price so i was very happy. The only let down is you don't get King Kong and the remote control is in japanese (obviously!!).
I put my order in on wednesday and received it on the following Monday.

The issue came when i got confronted with the UPS man at my front door telling me i had a import tax to pay of £32 (broken down this was £21 in import vat and £11 in brokerage charges)

I was stunned to say the least. I have imported stuff before and have paid import tax before but nothing as extortinate as 30% of the product value.

UK purchasers be warned this could happend to you.

Note to play asia the potential duty/import costs should be detailed better when purchasing.

To all the readers this add-on is region free, the remote is japanese, but the remote from the premium pack works just fine on it, and also its a figure 8 power socket so you just need that cable, no need for any international socket converter.

Well worth it
You can't get these in the UK apart from greedy gits on eBay. This is great! HD-DVD is excellent. A definite step-up from DVD, not quite the leap from VHS to DVD but still pretty good. You will need a power lead for the UK as npettifo says and the remote is Japanese but if you already have the standard 360 remote you won't have a problem. I called Microsoft to make sure it works and they said yes but I don't they'd go on the record regarding this. Feel free to call them.

I have been reluctant to use Play-Asia as I have never used an import site before. But after reading the customer feedback on this item, and the fact I cannot find it anywhere has lead me to finally order.

Don't pay over the odds on Ebay
These are going for £200 plus on ebay when you can get 1 from here for roughly the same price as you would in the shops in the uk when the import duty is added.The delivery only took 2 days to Manchester.
The best thing is there is no region coding on the HD format and the region code for japan on normal DVD's is Region 2 the same as the UK so your normal DVD's will work on it as well the drive also upscales the DVD so its closer to high def.

High end accessory for the xbox, or cheap way to enter the new wave of technology
I only got this because I figured the price for the HD-DVD add on wasn't that much to pay instead of getting just some separate non-HD up converting player. I was amazed by the quality of this. I'm a total HD-DVD fan now already bought some 20 HD Movies to my collection. Well I didn’t get the King Kong HD DVD which is included in Us Version also the remote is Japanese I find difficult using it. Overall if you are a Movie fan and own xbox360 I would say you should buy this also the quality and the finishing of the DVD player is excellent

If you have been thinking about getting this drive for a while,(like me)do not hesitate.It's awsome.It'll work on any 360 from any country in the world.Auto poer switching power pack aswell.so no worry about voltage.If you don't live in japan however you will need to buy a standard figure8 power cable to plug into the power pach,so as to make it compatible with your local power plug.

Perfect, works on my PAL xbox 360 perfectly fine, HD-DVD's play without a hitch, brilliant. Only 1 problem is that King Kong isn't included as it is in the EU version and the instructions and remote are in Japanease, but who cares! As always, a great service from play-asia.
