This game is tremendous
Well, here's a RPG that actually gets it right this generation. Some gamers have recently been complaining about great RPGs being too linear and prefer the RPGs such as Mass Effect and Dragon Age. However, this game has a great combat system that is much deeper than Mass Effect or Dragon Age. It plays almost like an action game comparable to Chaos Legion or Legend of Zelda. The animation is very smooth and convincing. And the story gets points for originality. You see, Mass Effect feels too much like Star Trek. but Star Ocean doesn't feel like Star Trek.
The best thing about this game is that it is not voiced by some geek off the street, unlike some RPGs delivered by another game company.
Buy the game and when it is delivered
repeat after me....SHOCKMASTER!

Yay!!!!
Good RPG for Xbox 360. Since there is only a few JRPG for Xbox 360 that is interesting.

epic games
This game spans 3 discs - that alone is worth the price tag. With addictive combat and levelling gameplay, the main downside is just the disc changing. Other than that, this is a must-get for JRPG fans amongst xbox owners.

Star Ocean on Xbox360
Finally, this series goes to Xbox360. And they really enhanced the graphics to be suitable with next-gen console, and still maintains the classic RPG style.

first of the series to go in next-gen console
though the battle system is not *my* liking, but this is still one of the best series out there
and considering the discounted price when i bought this, there's absolutely no reason not to purchase this thing
can't wait to finish the psp remake first before playing this one

I can't recommend this game enough. If you like to play quality JRPG for your Xbox 360, this is the one you must get (and also get Lost Odyssey too).
The dubbing in the English version are not bad. Some characters might sound off, but overall this is one of the better ones out there.
If you're new to the series, do not worry. This game might make you want to play the other games from the series. I know I am!

Definitely saved the best for last.
Three reasons why I bought XBOX360 over PS3... Tales Of Vesperia, The Last Remnant and Star Ocean: The Last Hope.
I have much anticipated this game ever since I bought my console and I certainly wasn't disappointed. :D

Finally a decent JRPG from Square Enix for xbox 360!
Of all the RPG games made by Square Enix for the Xbox 360 this one is the best period, great real time combat system and decent story.

FUN TO BE BACK IN OUTER SPACE
Star Ocean Series has always been a great game with elementary RPG theme but a vast outer space world from present to past. Square Enix didn't disappoint much with this title either. Graphics are certainly richer with a unique battle system only exclusive to Star Ocean series. Sound quality is not very high in English Language version and characters looks dummy while talking during the game.
Being a big fan of RPG games and Star Ocean series, I would certailnly recommend it to newbies as well as hardcore fans.

Love The Battle System
I've been a fan of Star Ocean series and I'd say that Star Ocean: The Last Hope is the best of all SO series. The active battle system is truly enjoyable, and it is one of the major factors that make this game boast in terms of replayability. Graphic-wise, I believe this game deserves 9 out of 10. Although the characters' faces could have been better to make them look more lively and lovely.
However, Square Enix should have provided the Japanese voice with English sub version for Xbox360. The English voices are somewhat lame that players may feel the story dull or retarded.
Last but not least, if you love the previous Star Ocean stars, I believe you'll also like this one. Star Ocean: The Last Hope has all the elements from its predecessors. It's surely a must-have J-RPG!

Very fun
One of the few rpg that has LOOOONG boss battles. To top the amazing battle system off is the stellar grahpics. Also, with I believe around 900 BTs, it will take a while to finish this game 100%.

A+ RPG
This is the first Star Ocean game I tried, and it is good. It makes you want to play the other SO games as well. Battles are fun.

Fun Gameplay
The story is as usual as a Square-Enix title, but gameplay is the most fun in the whole Star Ocean series.
The characters looks somewhat like lifeless dolls at times but the way the story is told and the fun gameplay makes this game a decent buy to either newcomers or a longtime fan of the series.

Great Idea
Fantastic idea. Newspaper reads:
Humanity Sc&*ws Itself; Looks to the Stars
Unfortunately, even though actually events are interesting everything has a bit too much Star Ocean sparkle. E.g. Bug slaughtered marines look kinda cute...
Also, despite amazing graphics and able voice acting the avatars are lifeless mannequins. No facial expression even in cut scenes is a tad creepy.

Nice graphics
As expected a game from tri-Ace, the game graphics is nice. The character model is nicely built. The only problem i found in the game is the camera position, it is a bit too close to the character. Overall the game is great.

Star Ocean
This is the first Star Ocean game I tried, and it certainly is fun. Everything about the gameplay itself is pretty good: graphics, music, sound effect, voice acting (Japanese ver.), delivery and development of story, etc. The only thing I don't like so much about this game is the battle trophy and its related achievements. There are I believe a total of 900 different battle trophies you may earn throughout the gameplay, and most of them are very repetitive and tedious (like win a battle with 1HP/2HP/3HP/4HP/5HP left, in which the hard part is not about winning the battle, instead it's about getting exactly 5HP left for the specific character). In order to earn a full achievement list for this game, you'll have to earn every single one of the trophies. So if you are a perfectionist about achievements, be prepared to spend hours of tedious grinding if you decide to add this game to your collection.

Japanese version>US version
The voices are better and it also has the cool anime faces when the speech boxes come up instead of the ugly looking CG renders of the characters. I still don’t understand why Square did this to the American version, they should have left the Japanese voices and the anime art in the US version. Import this one if you love RPG’S. It’s the best JRPG I’ve played on the 360.

The best Square-Enix Title on Xbox 360
If you haven't played Star Ocean before then you may not know what to expect, if you have then you may have alreasy bought this game. The Last Hope is a real time JRPG. When you bump into an enemy on screen you enter a battle screen. There are some new improvements in batte (Compare to Star Ocean: Till the End of Time.) One is the Rush Gage and the other is Blindsight. After beating the game you have many things to do, harder dungeons/bosses, more quests, and the colleseum. I highly reccomend this to any JRPG fan.
